Dell Universal DisplayPort (DP) to DVI Video Adapter Cable

This is a great little Displayport to DVI adapter. The build quality is pretty good, definitely better than some of the other adapters you can get for around the same price. I use this primarily for dual-display setups on Lenovo M78 desktops, although I've also used them with other PC's with Displayport, and I've never had any issues. You just plug your DVI LCD into the DVI end and the Displayport into your PC, and you're more or less done. The computer should detect it as soon as you turn it on and then you can adjust the settings from your display settings under the control panel.One thing that should be mention is that if you're trying to get more than two monitors going from a single video card with Displayport (such as a AMD Eyefinity-enabled card), you're going to need a more expensive Active adapter, this won't do that job.

They seem to work. We had a situation were we tested 2 of them with 2 different rigs and both worked on one rig and neither worked on the 2nd rig. That's obviously not an issue with this product, as many people will likely blame this item as the issue when its most likely the system they are trying it on doesn't support what they are trying to accomplish. I do wish the cable was about 1 foot longer though, but there is still plenty of length there to avoid having things mashed between things and wires pinched. Perhaps not enough length to "hide and tuck" the bulky DVI end underneath or behind a desk out of view though.

One of those products that makes Amazon great. If I went to a local Best-Buy/Wal-Mart and they didn't have these I would just assume they didn't exist, but thanks to Amazon, I know that they do, I can get them in 2 days, and I can do it for cheap. The product has been reliable in its function and it does what a product like this should do, meaning, once its setup, it makes me completely forget I own it. If you have this strange need as I did to run SLI off of a DP slot, then buy this item with confidence.

Ordered three of these so I could attach three monitors using DVI. Two out of three work without any problems but the third does not work at all. Tried swapping it with one of the other two to confirm it was the converter and not the card or monitor. I lucked out and can attach the third monitor directly to the video card using the DVI connector without it disabling the SLI capabilities even though the manufacturer says 3 monitor needs to run off the display ports. Still giving 3/5 stars since two of them work flawlessly. I'd contact the seller to have them ship me another one but it really isn't worth the hassle of shipping the dead one back. I'll update the review if either of the remaining two fail in the near future.

I just received this DisplayPort to DVI cable. I didn't realize that it was soooo!!! short. So I can't use it. Glad I ordered one from another company at the same time>> that has a longer cord. Hope that one works, because this one is so short the computer would have to sit backwards and directly behind the monitor to work. Not sure how it is supposed to work, but it definitely won't work in my application. My new monitor does not have a VGA or DVI output. It only has a DP input/outputs and my new computer doesn't have a DP input/output. It only has 2 DVI ports. That is why I thought this cable would be perfect,but it isn't. Beware it is a super short cable!!

It works. It's a cord, people. It will work or it won't. If you are expecting some great, new video quality out of this or any other cord, quit right now and read some REAL reviews. I only gave two stars so somebody might look and see what I wrote and learn something. The gold-plated cords are no better than any other. IT'S A BUNCH OF WIRES THAT CONNECT TO POINT ON ONE END AND CONNECT TO OTHERS ON THE OTHER END. End story.

Works fine with a Dell Latitude E6410 at 1680x1050. I've gone through several dozen insertions on the DisplayPort side already. The one I received is slightly different from the picture. The white (DVI end) enclosure is a bit bulkier. My biggest complaint with this adapter is the DisplayPort release is on top of the connector. I have to lift up the end of the laptop to get my finger underneath the connector to squeeze the release mechanism. Being a bit on the bulky side, it is also harder to tuck away the DVI cable with this adapter compared to the single DVI-DisplayPort (single, 2m) cable.
