Fun book, great photos
As a teenager living in Paris, I attended the races in 1970, 1971, and 1972, so of course I had to buy this book! And I'm so glad I did. The photographs are excellent, as are the recounts and side articles about the races. It brought back many fond memories. I hope to make it back to Circuit de la Sarthe someday. But even if you have not had the chance to get to Le Mans, this book is an excellent addition to any sports car fans library. The book is an easy read, and, as previously stated, the photography is great.

Complete and comprehensive
This is a tremendous resource for race fans. I'm not fanatically knowledgeable, except for Porsche, on whose participation in Le Mans I've read several books, so I can't spot errors or lack of details, but there are ample photos of race entries famous and obscure, and back stories, regulations, complete entry lists and results. Photos are not captioned, but are referenced in the neighboring text, so quick browsing doesn't really work. I've moved on to the next in the series (1980-89), and will probably get 'em all eventually.
