John Deere Preschool 21 inch Big Scoop Dump Truck

My 16 month old loves anything with wheels..so I was looking for tonka type trucks he plays with in daycare. I came across this truck, and bought it based on the reviews. It is literally the BEST toy I have bought. He is obsessed with it. He pushes it and runs to the side to watch it crash into the walls (warning, it is a metal bed so it is ruining my walls..but it will keep him entertained for 30 minutes at a time!) It is rugged, He actually fits in it and we can push him around. The handle is in just the right spot for him to push. It truly dumps. The size is perfect for him to push around. He was barely walking when we got it. He can now (6 weeks later) run, steer it, maneuver...it is helping him develop gross motor skills and burn off excess energy. He collects all kinds of items from around the house in the bed...Just a great made toy and I don't feel at all inappropriate for a 1.5 year old.UPDATE: My son is now 26 months and this is still the WINNER toy in the house. He now has races with it. He has experiments with gravity putting it down the slide. It looks almost new. Nothing has broken. It is very well made. We ended up putting furniture protector corners on the scoop to protect our walls. He will sit in it to be pushed around. A truly good use for your "toy budget" money if you have an active child who likes toys with wheels.

I laughed out loud when I opened the box with this cool dump truck inside. I couldn't believe how much bigger it was than I anticipated! My nephew squeeled with joy when I rolled it toward him. He promptly decided to get into the back of the dumper and sit. He's almost two and he fit right into the bed of the truck. The top of the dumper has a nice handle for easy grip if you want to pick it up and take it outside or pull someone that happens to land in the back end of the truck! He promptly filled the dumper part with my dog's fetching balls and proceeded to transport them all over the house making deliveries along the way. Very well made and it's quite a good looking dump truck! Highly recommend. Lots of fun and play time for the little truck driving dreamer!

My son is 3 and he's getting this for Easter. We had a $20 plastic truck he loved and subsequently broke - the wheels fell off and the dump bed cracked. We took that truck to the beach every weekend. This replacement truck bed is metal, it's massive and I know he's going to love it! The wheels and cab are plastic, but it appears to be really sturdy. I like the handle on the dump bed. No sharp edges and it keeps the bed in place - doesn't tip back. It's well worth spending a little extra to have a truck that won't fall apart. For our use - sandy beaches - we'll be able to push it, fill it up with dirt, put water in it and wash it off before we head home. Love it. It seems like it could also hold some weight

My son LOVES this dump truck. Got it for him for Christmas when he was 3 years old, and that's all I should have got him because it's all he played with... for like months. Inside at first because it was winter, where he filled it with stuff and dumped it everywhere around the house. Then I turned him loose in the spring and OMG he went wild, loading it with dirt, rocks, anything. His friends and cousins love it too, when they visit. They'd take turns sitting in the huge monster of a truck, getting pushed around, loading it with stuff, a team effort. It's the PERFECT size! And it's made of metal, save for the wheels. And sturdy!! Fast forward and my son is nearly 5 years old and the truck is still going strong and my son plays with it every time he goes outside, even with his other awesome outdoor toys about. This is his fave! If you're on the fence about buying this truck at a highish price tag, just do it! This toy is all your child needs. Don't bother with anything else. My daughter also loves it. It's an amazing toy!!!

I've never purchased a vehicle on line before, but a lot of the things I buy from Amazon are "firsts" for me, so I figured why not? I have a lot of yard junk to get rid of this year, and I thought about getting a dump truck to make transporting it easier. I didn't come to Amazon with the intent to buy said dump truck, but as I was poking around I found this gem. Initially I thought "Wow, a 21' dump truck for under $100, nevermind $10,000?!? With free delivery because I have Prime?!? Heck yeah!". I was so excited at this incredible bargain that I didn't even ask the wife, I just punched the buy button before Amazon could discover their pricing mistake! Unfortunately, I punched it with enough force that I broke my keyboard (I replaced it with an Amazon Basic keyboard, which is pretty nice though). 2 days later a package arrived for me, and I thought "Hmm, what did I forget I bought now?" (I do that all the time, I'm pretty sure it's one of the endearing qualities my wife loves about me) because obviously even Amazon isn't efficient enough to fit an entire dump truck in that box. Well, my excitement was soon deflated when I finally opened it...Ladies and Gentlemen, this truck is 21 INCHES, not FEET. In all my excitement I had made a terrible conversion mistake and purchased a much too small dump truck for my needs. But, with some diligence I was able to get everything I needed moved, moved. And now my 2yo son gets to play with it and absolutely loves it. So, there is a silver lining.
