First one didn’t work, reorder and it works great

Junk. Bought one, box was torn up. When I put it in my helmet it would just flash and would not stay dark. Returned it and bought another one and it was scratched up like it was used and returned and they just packaged it back up and sent it to me. It also just flashed and would not stay dark. Your eyes are to important to buy this junk.

Lets start by saying that I am not a welder. I am the DIY'ER that has a small wire-feed welder and I spend 5 minutes welding and 25 minutes grinding. Having said that, the wind ripped the gate keeper off my gate and I went out to weld it back on and found that my trust Harbor Freight helmet had given up the ghost. Conveniently, HF does not offer a replacement and when I talked to them I was told to just by a new helmet.I took a chance on this unit and it fit perfectly. I left it in the sun for a day to charge and I am likely still grinding on the horrible weld I laid down on my gate!

I'm new to welding and on a budget. I frequently missed my mark using the old "manual lens". So I decided to modify my welding mask and use this product as I was able to afford it. Stuck the auto darkening lens using strips of strong double sided tape to a piece of plexiglass that was cut to the same pattern as the old lens frame and covered the empty space with black duct tape.It works great and I can now actually see the puddle.

I ordered one of these about 7 years ago so when it finally quit working I figured I would just order another. Well the new one came and it did not work so I ordered a replacement one and that one didn't work either. So after doing a little investigating I discovered a little removable compartment with a battery so I took the battery out and flipped it around and boom, it works. Turns out neither one was defective but because it comes with no information, instructions or anything it's up to the buyer to figure it out. Hopefully this helps someone from going through the whole return process unnecessarily. Three stars are for the lack of information supplied with the lense, otherwise it should be a decent part for the money.

For the price it was a perfect way to make that harbor freight helmet last a while longer. Beats trying to replace the batteries which is not easy or worth my time in my opinion .
