These are NOT granola, but are very good
Oats, for those who may not know, are a grain with a size and shape like barley or 'fat rice'. There are three basic ways that the oat groats are prepared: rolled, steel cut, and ground. In the US, rolled oats are the predominant form and are the type found in the Quaker Oats box or granola. Steel cut oats are associated with Ireland and are basically oats that have been chopped into even sized pieces. Ground oats, associated with Scotland, are just that - ground into relatively fine pieces. These crackers are made with ground oats, olive oil, wheat flour, wheat bran, skim milk solids, salt, and baking soda. Note that there is no sugar and that salt is listed at the end. These are not the kind of cracker that you eat plain (although I enjoy them that way), but instead are designed to be used as a base for a canape, or served with a bit of jam if you want sweetness. These are simple oat cakes that may not appeal to the American taste buds accustomed to sweet, flavored, salty crackers. They are delicious and wholesome and make a good snack.

Surprisingly great!
We are fans of Walkers shortbread and I thought I would try these as something “healthier.” They arrived from The UK to Chicago intact, and are a wonderful find! A great snack on their own or as a base for cheese, salmon, etc. Will be ordering more!

Cardboard. Oaty cardboard
Yes, this is totally subjective, my dislike for these Oatcakes with Bran, but they are like hockey pucks. I wasn't expecting an oatmeal cookie-type thing, which is a blessing. But I did not expect them to be quite so dry and quite so cardboard tasting. Oats have flavor, but there is none to be found here. I guess if you want to punish your innards, and strengthen your jaw muscles (at the risk of your teeth), these could be good served as shown on the label. But, for me, they did not cut it. No even a little.

Very good
Love oatcakes though these are not as good as home-made in Scotland, but all I can find in the U.S.

Yummy taste of Scotland
These cakes are grainy and chewy, with a lovely nutty taste. I love them with peanut butter and a cup of tea or coffee for lunch! Not cheap, but I'll keep ordering them, they are so good!!

Best Tasting Oatcake of all the Varieties
These oatcakes with the bran in them are the best tasting, very healthy and versatile accompaniment with either sweet or savory toppings. But I like eating them just plain.

Product great! Packing not so much
Love these oatcakes, second time ordering. Unfortunately the packing was inadequate to protect the crunchy goodness inside the packages. Very disappointed to have oat crumbs instead of cakes.
