It Does the Trick!
I'll admit it, I was skeptical and fully expected to be disappointed and wind up returning this thing. After all, it is exactly what is pictured in the ad: a cheap piece of plastic with a couple of angled cuts and an elastic strap to hold it in place ...But it WORKS! And it's better made than anything I could have made at home out of hobby store materials. It arrived today and I used it today. Now I have a neatly trimmed neckline that blends perfectly with my DIY haircut. It comes with directions, and if you follow the instructions and hold it in place with one hand it gives you a nice guide to follow for a clean, straight trim. It's much easier than trying to hold a mirror in one hand and eyeball the trim line, so I'm a happy camper!!!

It works well.
I was skeptical at first but I am happy since I started using it. Have saved a lot in haircuts since then.

Happy with this product!
My husband likes to have a groomed neck so he used to shave his neck by himself, but he has never done a good job. Sometimes he would ask me to shave his neck, but frankly, I didn’t like to do it.I was hoping to find this kind of template for the neck haircut so he could do it himself. I decided to buy this product because it has the right shape, transparent, adjustable and has a headband that keeps it in place. I also liked it because it is made in the USA.The shipment arrived 3 days after I have ordered it from Amazon, although I didn’t request expedited shipping. This product is simple, and does a very good job of creating a nice neck hairline. My husband is happy with it, and I'm even happier.Irene K.

Pretty Good, but Overly Expensive
It works well enough, I think. You have to hold it with your hand and hope that it's straight in the back, but it's usually okay, and it's better than nothing. It really should be more like $4.99, I think, but if you're lazy and don't care about $10-15 bucks, then go for it.

Problem Solved!
I started cutting my own hair about a year ago when it started taking my barber about five minutes to set his electric razor to "2" (very short) and shave my mostly bald head. Seemed like something I could do myself, and it was. But the back of the neck was always a problem. Then I ran across this simple solution. Problem solved. There are two in the package -- one larger, one smaller. I'm a skinny guy with a skinny neck, so the small one works for me. Because I cut my hair so short, I cannot speak to how it works with longer hair (making sure your hair is laying the right direction under the band, cutting upward or downward). Once I have it in place using a hand mirror to look at the back of my head in the wall mirror, I hold it in place with one hand so that it doesn't shift (per directions) and shave down from the bottom edge. I have also shaved up to it without the razor ever cutting it. The line looks great to me and definitely better than what I was doing free-hand.

Two Stars
I purchase this about a year ago. I started trimming my neck for a month and was so frustrated with it that I was about to throw it in garbage. So, in my initial review after a month of use I said that it was not functional.I left it in my bathroom cabinet for few months but then decided to give it a try one more time. This time I paid a bit more attention and spent more time on how to utilize this device. After a few attempts I finally got a hang of it. Now I feel much more comfortable with it and I use it more and I am getting better as well.It gives me a nice clean hair line on my neck that is straight and well trimmed. Is it like a line a pro in barbershop does for you? Definitely not. But it is good enough for me; given, I save the time and money I must spend to go to barber every two weeks.Overall I rate it four and think it is a good tool to have for any guy. Just remember it needs some time, patience and practice to make the best result from it.

Not really that great. Too wide and the two sizes aren't really that different.
Really wanted to like this product, but I've found it unhelpful. Even the small strap is pretty wide, which just gave me a look like someone had run a very straight lawnmower up my neck and then awkwardly stopped. Still wooly and untamed on the sides but perfectly shaven below a perfectly straight line. I was really hoping this would help me curve the neckline, as the photo looks a bit curved, but it doesn't. I'm about average sized (6'2, and wear a 16" neck dress shirt...so not too far off average) so it's not as if it's a result of a pencil neck on my part. Wish I had saved my $15 and just had my partner continue cleaning up my neckline when I buzz my head. Oh well - I've saved way more than that on haircuts in the last year anyway!
