Will definitely increase your birdie chance on the golf course
First, I have no idea what the blemish was. Thing looked unmarked when I opened it, though it's well-blemished now from how often I use it. My yard it about 100ft wide, but I have some additional open space I can hit to, and given I don't typically hit the ball all that far, there's plenty of space available for me to use the birdieball. My future son-in-law has used it as well, and I'd say if you have 100-150 ft available, you should be ok in most instances. Alternately, if you really want to limit flight, hit against the wind.I'm a hacker (with no official handicap, though it would be in the 20s easily I'm sure), and I've found this device to be an excellent trainer for developing a repeating swing. Of course, if you repeatedly swing incorrectly, you won't improve, but then, the 'balls' won't fly properly either, so you'll know that you have to work on something. In one of my sessions, I started swaying rather than rotating, and the balls flew horribly. Once I corrected my swing, the balls were flying high and straight and making that twanging sound they are supposed to make when you've hit them correctly. On the course, I still hit too many duffs, but I also hit far more good shots than I did prior to birdieball, which has made golfing much more fun. My future son-in-law thought it improved his game significantly after just one session. Very highly recommend.

Awesome, works as advertised!
I hit them from my front yard to my neighbor's front yard, and play "Birdieball Golf" with my son and daughter (5 & 6 years old). It works great for them teaching them the basics at home, and for me it gives me an accurate reading of my golf swing through the sound of the birdieball and the FLIGHT of the Birdieball! It slices, hooks, fades and draws like a real ball, only much shorter, so you can practice at home and it won't break windows (Probably unless you take direct aim). I love them, my kids love them, my wife loves them, but she would rather be on a real course. It is a great family game we can all play together at home or while out on an RV weekend, or at the park. It's really a lot of fun to set a pylon out as a "Hole" and then call it a "Par ?" and go for it!!! Hit the pylon and you have holed the birdieball. I would guess you could use them on a "Frisbie Golf Course" as well? Warning, use the striking pad as to not tear up your lawn, or the parks lawn.... LOL....

Great tool for working on swing
I’m a complete beginner/novice “golfer”. I haven’t golfed in 10 years (and even then I was just a novice) and wanted something to work on my swing and mechanics in the backyard. So far I couldn’t be happier with these. First, they are expensive for what they are….a plastic napkin ring essentially. But so far I haven’t broken one and Ive topped quite a few and lasered some into trees, my house, etc. They feel great on contact…close to a golf ball but not exactly the same. They have gotten dinged, somewhat warped and scuffed but otherwise they still do their job. I hit them off a golf mat since the plastic birdieball mat felt unnatural to me (I purchased that separately) The box says they’ll go 40 yards…but Ive hit some that went a lot farther (maybe 60 yards with a 5 iron) than that so make sure you have extra space. Ive used them with a hybrid 4 wood with no issues….haven’t hit them with a driver yet so I’m not sure how that’ll work out (you have to purchase a separate foam tee for that). Otherwise this summer I’ve really come along using these and will continue to be a fan

This is swing mat designed to train for irons and I think it might work.
I thought it was warped upon arrival, but then I read the directions and realized it was bent for a reason. I love the Birdie Balls already but haven't tried the swing mat yet.

Absolutely perfect!
I am a 7 handicap player who is obsessed with the game of golf. I have purchased numerous game improvement accessories over the years including the Medicus dual hinge driver and every different type of practice ball available. To be honest with you, I passed over the birdie ball at a local golf shop 2 years ago because it looked ridiculous. There was no way a "ball" of this shape was going to react anything like a real golf ball. 2 years later, I'm glad I gave the birdie ball a fair shot. The birdie ball is an amazingly accurate (although at a greatly diminished distance) replacement golf ball. It flies about 40 yards when smashed with a 5 iron but soars on a beautiful trajectory. The compression feel at impact is so true to the feeling of a golf ball, it is tremendous. Playing the Birdie ball off of natural turf gives you the best feeling at impact but the plastic strike pad also does a fair job when the taking of a divot is not advised (public park, asphalt, living room floor, etc).Birdie balls give excellent feedback both on flight path (fade, draw, slice, hook) and quality of shot (thin, fat, or flush). When you make a good swing on the ball you will know immediately due to the compression feeling as well as audible feedback in the form of a turbine sound. The sound is really satisfying, almost like a long "BOIIIIINNG" sound. On thin shots or softer pitches and chips the Birdie ball makes little to no noise and flies almost the same distance as your normal pitch. Basically, the harder you hit it, the faster it spins and alternates between lifting and slowing down- giving that turbine sound. This review is probably already long enough but trust me you will not regret this purchase as I have regretted a few golf purchases in the past. The Birdie ball is so much fun and so inexpensive given the amount of time you will want to practice with it. Forget the range, buy the Birdie ball.

Great for starters
I took my two boys out and we were able to work on our swing without "hiking" for balls. Great product.
