Stencil tape worked in my Brother P-touch label maker, was able to use it for metal etching.

Bought to etch knife and works great. Was surprised by the level of detail.

I would of gave it a 4 star as it does put a good etich on the knifes. It is so hard to see the writing or image and know for sure where to place it on the knife. You will need to make many practice stencils to get it right but well worth it. I will say I found if you use bold dark letters it helps...

Bought this after watching YouTube video on etching metal. Wanted to try some basic experiments with the product before investing in wider tape and computer compatible printer. Used with older hand held basic label brother P Touch printer. The proof of concept experiments worked reasonably well. And yes there is a learning curve. For best results use Bold and All Caps. Make sure the tape is tightly masked off to print surface. Finally, this is one of those products that requires patience. It does what it does.

I got maybe 7 or 8 usable stencils out of it. The ones that printed properly did fine, but the tape bound up in the machine so much and so often that it just ruined most of it. A new PT-E550W, has printed a lot of regular labels without a single issue, and continues to do so. With this cartridge, it was rolling the dice whether or not it was going to print and feed. 75 to 85% of the time, I lost. Very disappointing.
