RYOBI BD4601G Bench Sander Green

Love it!

My Ryobi belt sander is perfect. Lots of power. Easy to adjust. Large sanding area. Nice to have the circle sander on the side. Definitely a quality brand product.

I shopped around for quite a while before buying this Ryobi sander. It seems all the sanders have bad reviews. So far it is working well, and I'm happy with it. I went with the Ryobi as I have a fair number of Ryobi cordless tools although I am shifting to Ridgid for my volunteer and business activities. As you can see in the pictures, I bought a stand for it, then added a shelf for sandpaper and the crepe stick, and of course, saw dust. I added sides to help keep out some of the saw dust after these pics were taken. I also added a hook and loop disc so I can change grits easier. I'm not real fond of the tensioner which allows the belt table to be rotated to vertical. Its secured with a hex head bolt so I keep the allen right in the bolt to facilitate quick adjustments. The sixth picture shows where a cheap piece of useless plastic broke off. It caught my pants when I was walking by.Overall, I'd buy it again. I gave it 4 stars because the belt table clamp is poorly designed, the trim around the disc table is plastic, it didn't come with a hook and loop disc, and Ryobi doesn't have a base for it.

After reading many reviews on all types of sanders like this, I decided to stick w/this brand. Ryobi isn't top of the line in their tools, but I'm not a top of the line diy guy, so this price point along with the job it does it perfect for me.I just built my first set of cabinet rollouts, and used this sander multiple ways to help achieve the finished product. It runs smoothly and sands well. It is heavy, so I wouldn't get one for your grandmother unless she's buff.

Have been buying Ryobi for a couple of years now and love they product. The only problem with this machine was that it was dropped in shipment and the side guard is cracked. I fixed it with G-Flex epoxy but will contact Ryobi for a replacement part.

Slow, cheap and broke in 15 minutes.

I used this product to make some new seats for chairs I'm re-purposing. The sander worked excellent on rounding the edges and i was able to clamp two at a time to ensure the same shape for all 5. I lost power initially, by pushing too hard against the sanding disc, but once I learned to let the tool do the work, everything turned out great. this tool is great for the hobbyist.
