What does this do exactly

I had a 2006 trailblazer with a check engine code for the emissions on the fuel system, after I replaced it and reset the codes it never came back on. It was located in front of the rear axle up by the body. it actually has a filter in it and also a sensor. It didn't take long to change it. That's all I can really tell you about it, good luck.

It depends on your driving habits. City driving has less dust the gravel roads. When you fill up with gasoline don't top off your tank. When the pump has has an auto shut off stop. Topping off the tank over fills and a small amount of gasoline can run out the over flow you and into this device and the dust gets in it. There's a scotch Brite like filter in it and that plugs up over year but they are easily replaced in minutes.

Yes but make sure the gas fill cap is tight and not leaking. If that doesn't work, then replace the canister vent valve. Either one will cause the p0449 code

Cadillac XLR

Used in 2004 Cadillac XLR. So far so good. Easy to install is relative - difficult to get to, but went together as expected. Wiring Plug fits - ordered what should have been the same part from a different seller & wiring plug did not fit [it was too square]. Value for Money - time will tell. Gave it 5 stars. If it lasts its well worth the money [will update if things change] Vehicle is running great.
