The media could not be loaded. Be creative with this awesome toy! My cat “killed” it too easily on the floor alone. She needed a longer prey sequence, so I enclosed it in an Amazon box adapted to allow space for the circling butterfly, with cut out windows. I stuck it to the floor when she “hunts”. Now she complains if I turn it offbefore she catches her and kills her prey. Once she “kills” it, I turn it off and give her a treat. Highly recommended!Update 10/10/20: My cat has not gotten bored with this at all. The base is sturdy. We turn it on several times a day, when she crouches outside the box because she is ready to “hunt”. Since purchase we have changed the batteries only 4 times.I bought refill butterflies with the toy, because one reviewer wrote he replaces the butterfly weekly: I don’t need to. The butterfly Is worn and torn, it’s now just a piece of shiny, fluttering plastic. As long as the shiny plastic keeps fluttering erratically on it’s wire, my cat will continue to attack it.She swats and stares at it, several times a day, occasionally batts at it, trying to get it to move. When I catch her at this, I turn it on and she’s back on the hunt, batting, pouncing, holding the wire down, chewing in the butterfly, then letting go so she can have another round.Every couple of days she hold the wire down so long she flattens it at the base and it won’t spin. I remove the butterfly unit, straiten the wire with needle nose pliers, and put it back in place. She follows me and reaches for it as I do this. When I put it back on the unit in spin position, and she returns to attacking, playing with, chewing on and eventually killing (stopping the movement of) her prey.I imagine she will eventually rip up and shred the butterfly so completely it comes off the wire. At that point I will replace the butterfly, but it is so firmly attached to the wire, it won’t be anytime soon.Even more highly recommended than when last posted.

Your cat may not be interested in this as a stand alone toy. However, if you hold it up sideways & have the butterfly flutter near or against your cat’s face, body, & paws, she will play with it a lot! It’s a great interaction toy between the owner & cat! You (and your cat) won’t be disappointed!

My cat absolutely loves this toy; this is the third time I’ve purchased it. The first two lasted more than a year, but my cat played hard and eventually wore them out. I felt it was well worth the money. Unfortunately, 31 days after this purchase, the toy died. I know the exact number of days because it was one day past the return window. Overall, my experience has been positive, and this was probably just a fluke, but it’s still disappointed.

First, BUY THIS MODEL NOT the one from the other vendor with on/off switch on bottom of the unit; you want the on/off switch on TOP of the unit. They look identical except for location of the switch … but there’s a BIG difference in performance. That one had poor reviews; this one is tested awesome )on/off switch on top)!Gracie has been playing w-this for HOURS EVERY DAY since getting this a month ago. I even join in, batting it back and forth with her. It’s been a wonderful bonding experience :-)This model LASTS A LONG TIME. She’s had it about a month and I haven’t had to change the battery OR the butterfly yet! Very DURABLE. She plays several hours a day every day; and she’s no lightweight: it gets batted, sat-on, pounced-on, chewed, even batted by humans!I even BOUGHT HER AN ADD’L UNIT so she has one on both 1st & 2nd floors … I got tired of running the toy up and down the steps, as she’d eventually cry if the toy wasn’t around for her to play with (and we never want a sad kitty).Second, per reviews only ONE BRAND of BUTTERFLIES WORK with this unit so buy them WITH 1st ORDER. Do not wait until you need it or kitty cat may become vocal until toy is up and running again (like my cat). Keep some on-hand.These butterflies are VERY LIFELIKE and are WORTH THE PRICE — your cat gets the full predator / prey experience: these move like, sound like, and (as they flutter) feel like real live prey.[NOTE: IF butterfly DOES NOT FLUTTER its likely due to wire being angled too high; this will also cause it to fly too high, too FAST, and cat may lose interest. Hard hits may also throw it off.][EZ FIX: With unit off, use finger to gently push-down on wire near the base; wire will appear somewhat parallel to floor.]Turn on and Butterfly WILL FLUTTER just above ground level; it will move, feel and sound JUST LIKE REAL PREY! At least to me it did — it made my stomach queezy as it fluttered in my palms, felt like a real live bug 🤮.]The ONLY DOWNSIDE, which would have been a deal-breaker had Gracie not loved this toy more than anything else in the world: there is NO MOTION SENSOR. BUT due to her amazing love of this toy, with realistic prey; AND given she’s played with it for hours and hours and hours and I still haven’t had to change the batteries in nearly a month, I’m no longer concerned with the lack of auto shut-off.Like I said, we just bought her an additional unit so she’d have one on each floor — that’s how much she loves this thing (and that’s how much we love her new fondness for exercise).We were looking for a toy that would double as EXERCISE; Gracie was an extremely SEDENTARY SENIOR CAT. This toy exceeded our expectations by far. Gracie has so much fun chasing and catching that she doesn’t realize those hours and hours of ‘play’ every day are actually exercise; exercise in which SHE chooses to engage. Nothing forced, all her choice :-)This is a FANTASTIC product for exercise and play; alone or with human family. Gracie and I give this (AND the recommended replacement butterflies) a hundred PAWS UP 🐾

The media could not be loaded. All three of my cats go bonkers for this. It has a decent solid base, unlike smothers I’ve tried, so it doesn’t fall over. The butterfly shimmers and flutters and my cats can’t resist it. Need to get more! The butterfly probably won’t last super long but at least you can buy replacements. Highly recommend!

le jouet préféré de mon chat , il l'adore , j'ai acheté plusieurs papillons car faut les changer de temps en temps ils finissent par casser , c'est le 2 ème que j'achète , le socle est très solide je le posé au dessu de son arbre il est tombé plusieurs fois et fonctionnait toujours mais la dernière fois il est mal tombé donc ça a cassé a l'interieur rien a voir avec la solidité du jouet , je recommande vraiment ce jouet , très bon article
