Mayfair Cameron Silver Toilet Seat, Non Slip Heavy Duty Wood, Easy Clean, Round

Looked nice right out of the box, solid construction, and matches perfectly with a vintage late 80's silver toilet. However, the finish is not at all durable. I've had it installed for about 3 months. After about one month of use, one night I noticed that my hubby had splashed some urine on the underside of the seat. I grabbed a Lysol wipe to gently wipe/clean it off and, much to my horror, the silver paint came off with it! I mean, it's a toilet seat, right, so a spot of urine should not dissolve the paint, right?! It's happened a few more times since, so, now, my seat is silver with white spots on the underside of the seat. It looks terrible and unsanitary, and I'm embarrassed to have anyone over because they'll see it, but what's even worse is that this is the only round seat available in the silver color match I need, so I am (yes, right now) ordering another of the same seat. I'm trapped! I think, this time, I am going to try to have it professionally clear-coated before I install it - maybe that will help protect the finish. I am deeply dissatisfied with the finish quality!

It worked well for about 6 months, then the back which is to make it easy to clean started coming separated from the base, so we have to keep pushing it back in the hole. I think I'd rather the older version that you screw in place.

It’s the weirdest thing. Similar to other buyers’ experience, this seat wears the color off in weird patterns. Mind you, I just bought this a couple weeks ago for a holiday home so there has been sporadic use at best. While the color is spot on for this vintage toilet, the paint on the seat wore off in a pattern that makes no sense and aligns with other buyers’ comments, so there is definitely a quality issue. Four stars for color and installation, no stars for sturdiness.

I do not generally send in reviews when an item works as expected. Because, well, the item worked as expected. But when a toilet seat does not work as expected - it deserves a comment. The toilet seat has been in use for five days. If an adult leans forward while sitting on it, the entire seat detaches from its mooring. This makes for a miserable experience. This is an awful bug in the design. Please issue a recall for this immediately, and we will look to purchase a different toilet seat.

It was packaged well and arrived without damage.It seemed solid as I removed it from the packaging, and the installation hardware made the process simple and quick. It was installed in less than five minutes, and that included removing the old seat.The "Snap on" seat system makes removal for cleaning simple, and it matches the colors of our tub, toilet and sink.I'd give it a 10 out of 10. Maybe I should take a point off since it didn't install itself, but it was close enough, so I'll go ahead with a perfect score.One more thing, my wife likes how easy it is to remove, so that's another endorsement.

Unfortunately the bare minimum for a toilet seat is for it to NOT discolor after a single cleaning with normal bathroom cleaner. And this product does not meet that bare minimum. Very frustrating and disappointing. Was initially thrilled with this (color was perfect, easy to install and seemed well made) until I found this out.

I just received this toilet seat today. This was a fast delivery. Only a few days it took when I received it. It was easy to install and seems very sturdy. I looked online for the best quality seat and found this. Price was right as well. Under $25.

The seat is sturdy and easy to set up but we realized after it was installed that it came with white marks all over the front of the seat. It looks like the paint came off somehow.

The colour of this seat was a perfect match for my mid'80's American Standard toilet. The usual weak point on a toilet seat is the hinges. They got the hinges right on this seat; they are very robust and lock solidly to the toilet bowl. They have a unique feature that unlatches the hinge from the bowl mount when you lift the hinge cover caps. This allows the toilet seat to be removed for easier cleaning of the toilet; the hinge mounts are left bolted on to the bowl. I suspect the plastic mounting flanges may fail over time if this system is used frequently, but it does allow the toilet seat to be easily removed. The only problem I had was with the first seat shipped. The seat is shipped in a cardboard package and a flap of cardboard is inserted between the lid and the seat presumably to prevent damage to the paint from the lid rubbing on the seat during shipping. It looked like the first seat I received had been packaged before the paint was completely dry and chunks of paint stuck to the cardboard and peeled off the seat. The second seat I received had a few very small spots of this but it wasn't significant. Check it out before you install the seat.Overall, a very good quality toilet seat with excellent hinges.

Relatively inexpensive but sturdy toilet set. Since i only recently installed it, I don't know how durable or how long it will last. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is it arrived with a small paint chip on it. It wasn't in a readily visible area so not worth returning. NOTE: a lot of toilet sets require a screwdriver to install (while you hold the nut with your finger). For this seat it needs an appropriate size wrench or, even better, a socket wrench

I love this toilet seat! The grey seat is a true light grey colour and very true to the colour in the picture. That is what I wrote when I bought it - but you can not use any bleach type product on this which is why I prefer to use on nasty dirty toilet seats as it discolours it - and - underneath the toilet seat when urine splashes up on the underneath part - it also discolours it - so no I wont be buying again sadly
