Great product!
We installed this on our garage door so our cat could escape the weather and roam as she pleases. This allows us to keep our garage door closed and she can still do her thing! Great quality, easy install if you’ve got the right tools! We don’t have a problem with it leaking!

Read before you install
Over various years, houses etc. we've had about 6 doors from Petsafe, and I did the install on them all. They are wonderful units, and they last really well. We use the small size, which is perfect for cats (ours run up to 16lbs). So this review only applies to the size small.Couple of call outs that you may find helpful:1) This aluminum version is more rugged than the plastic version from the same manufacturer, and holds up better with time. It's worth paying the small premium for this one in my opinion (though the other is also great). Also the panel to close this if you want to keep the cats in is way better. With the other unit, the cats worked out how to pull off the cover. This has a metal channel for the closing panel, and a positive close bolt that snaps into place so it's a lot better.2) The template that comes with the install instructions is sized EXACTLY to the size needed. If you cut a millimeter too small at any point along any of the lines, you'll have to re-cut. This is a miss because there is no harm in you cutting 1-2mm larger than the template and giving yourself a little wiggle room. So I am saying cut ever so slightly larger than the template.3) The plastic bolts this comes with are crap. I have no idea why they use plastic and not metal bolts. I think the idea is to allow you to flex them during install. The heads simply break when you put any tightening force through them. What I always do is go to a hardware store and buy the same thread, and length bolts, but in stainless steel (or some other weatherproof metal. Recommend you do this BEFORE you attempt to install so that you don't have to go to the store halfway through. If you want to give your pets free access to the outdoors, these are great.

Absolutely Perfect!!
We placed this cat door in our garage door for 2 outdoor feral cats that we've been feeding, and sheltering for more than 2 years. Perfect size, and a pliable flap making it easy for them to pass through in and out of garage. Keeps them safe, secure, warm, and my garage is so much cleaner since we don't have to keep the garage door open or cracked at night to accommodate these little furries. They love it, We love it! Win/Win, It's a perfect cat door!

Great for the price.
This is a great doggy door for the price. I installed fairly easily. I purchased the small size and it seems like it should be fine for my Dachshund pup. But beware that it is pretty small and if you have any second thoughts on the size just go one bigger.Pros:-Price-Easy Install-Nice productCons:-The screws that come with it( they are plastic, and very easy to break as I made the mistake with tightening one. Would recommend putting in a bolt instead of what they give you)Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the cheap screws they give you, but hey for $40 I cant complain too much.

8 mos later - no problems
We have not had the problem of the magnetic closure becoming weak. It is pretty strong. Our bonded feral learned to use it quickly and it was no problem to install. It faces the north in a windy area but has machinery in front. Not enough to stop the wind.Yeah, it sometimes lifts upward an inch or 1 1/2, but if it did not, I do not think the cat would use it. I put a bucket or board in front when the wind is bad.It has helped a-lot with the drafts coming in the barn. I am going to buy another for the porch.

First timer; Easy as pie.
This thing is amazing!!I bought this because leaving our screened-in porch door open for our cat was allowing bugs, birds, and everything in between onto our porch. This pet door was worlds cheaper than a new door with a pet door installed; and it was easy to install. I did have to purchase a jig saw, but the instructions for the door were clear and easy to follow. I even installed it while my three younger children played outside at a safe distance (even amidst the distraction of their playing, I could follow and successfully install it). Our cat is a little over 8 pounds, and I used the x-small cut out. Works perfectly!!A few things of note--for a more narrow door, you have to bend off part of the inner metal of the pet door (will make sense if/when you order it). It's not hard, but I was fairly sure I was breaking the pet door as I was doing it. Obviously, I wasn't, but it was unnerving at first.Second, if you have a long-haired cat like we do, his/her hair will collect on door as he/she goes in/out. It's not a deal breaker at all! But it is something to be aware of--we pull it off every few days.Overall, couldn't be more happy and I'm considering purchasing one for our downstairs porch door. Very pleased!!

It does the job
These doors work fine on our outdoor cat house. The double insulated walls of the house were a little thicker than doors, but we just installed outside half with door, and installed inside portion from the inside. We prepped the frame with insulation tape that covered the small distance between the outside and inside frames. Seem to work very well. Kitties are able to push through with no problem. Very pleased.
