The Korean "Twinkie"
These are sponge cakes, with both the cake and the custard filling being less sweet than U.S. Twinkies are. Each "cake" is also bit smaller per serving, though, so it's easy to get carried away in a fit of munchies and eat the whole darn box. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, either, but when I've got a hankering, these hit the spot for me. On a personal note, I love these for the sweet nostalgia I get when I bite into one. I think of my mom's Korean side of the family on our trips to Busan during the summertime when I was a kid in elementary school in the 80s. Her older brother, "Esamchun," -- who sadly died of lung cancer in '95 -- would bend over and greet me with a smile to present me with a box of these at the airport or the beach, all crinkley-eyed, laughing, and warmly doting on his little niece. The last time I saw him was 1990, and by then I wasn't as impressed with these little spongecakes. Savor every bite of life that you can while you can.

Repulsive —And I Explain Why
These will not even remind you of Custard. They come in little pouches and when you open one you come upon a dry cake that is not easy to pry open, though the freshness date is still 7 months away. When you get it open and taste it, you find there is nothing but a vague vanilla taste and then a bitter aftertaste. And that aftertaste is really weird. It can become almost "fishy" — it's bizarre.Maybe it's my American palate, but if this is what the rest of the world is eating I think we're all in big trouble. THIS IS NOTHING BUT CRAP. I wouldn't feed it to the wild animals in the woods behind my house. Read the ingredients and you will see why this is no good for you or your family. I would rather starve than eat another one of these.INGREDIENTS: Egg (I'm not buying eggs as we all know them to be as the first ingredient in these things), Sugar, Enriched wheat flour (Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Shortening (Hydrogenated vegetable oil, Soy lecithin), Fructo oligosaccharide, D-sorbitol, Emulsifier (Glycerin esters of fatty acids, Sucrose esters of fatty acids), Rice bran oil, Milky paste, Maltose powder, Alcohol, Egg yolk powder, Whole milk powder, Milk taste syrup, Polydextrose, Glycerin, Maple syrup, White wine, Salt, Artificial flavors, Palm extract (sic). Portable snack and fresh out of the package.
They are cute little snack individually wrapped easy to take along anywhere. But wish they had more filling, they are short on that part mostly crustful.

Attractive and no messy drip or smoke.
Liked the size and aroma. For me, not enough custard filling.

Like a semi-sweet twinkie
I had been watching a lot of British shows so I decided to try these, and oh my goodness they are amazing. Think of like a twinkie but with like a smooth, velvety, lightly sweet cream instead of just the super sweet one. It does have that sort of processed taste I will not lie, but they are sooooooooo good.

Not very good.
I really wanted to like these but I was diappointed. The cake is kind of dry, it reminds me of a slightly more moist angel food cake. The custard is rich but it mostly tastes like sugar (but not too sweet.) I'd just prefer to eat something better.

Terrible
Dry, doesn't taste like anything but sugar, and the custard was so soaked into the cake that it may as well not have been cream filled at all (and it was still DRY!) I don't know how you mess up a custard cake so badly, but they did.
