Absolutely delicious if you like bitter tasting foods 😋! The guilinggao/龜苓膏 powder is quite fine. It gets everywhere, so be careful when using & storing it. I followed the directions on the packet & everything came out fine. It doesn't resemble Jello's consistency. It's a soft jelly. If you want it to taste like boba grass jelly just add rock sugar to the boiling water. They're not two completely different products as some may believe. Herbal jelly has a strong taste, so enough sugar needs to be added to mask it.

It’s Chinese Medicine Jelly not like Grass Jelly!!
Before you guys buy this please read it clearly , this is not like grass jelly from boba tea shop but it looks like it, it is Chinese medicine included golden coin turtle shell ( from what I read on Wikipedia) and have bitter taste! For the benefit: good for skin, improving circulation, assisting muscle growth, relieving itching, reducing acne and kidney! You should eat it with brown sugar or honey to reduce bitterness!

More pungent than expected!
I can attest that the flavors are right on, and more far less diluted than your casual boba stand.Four stars because the instructions aren’t accurate.Took some experimenting, but here’s what I did to make it somewhat edible, excluding sweeteners:1. 6g of powder + 50g room temp water gradually, whisk till smooth2. Boil 160g water on the side (you can add sweeteners of choice here)3. Microwave powder mix for 8 sec on full power4. Add the boiled water while whisking in 1 direction. DO NOT add the mix to the boiling water because it will result in clumps that are hard to melt.5. Pour into moldThis will yield a gooey texture. I was able to add agar agar to the boiling water step to make a very firm and crisp one. Would try with even less amount of power because this stuff is powerful!

Bitter taste
If you are looking for grass jelly this is not and it is so much different. It tast bitter and smell like medicine. If you are looking for something good for health then maybe this is the right choice for you. But for those who are looking for desert maybe you want to look else where.
