Much easier to set up a TIG welder
I didn't know about these tools at all until I say someone using one on a YouTube video. You simply hold it over the torch nozzle of a TIG or MIG torch and adjust the gas until you get the correct flow. I found the reading at the nozzle was about the same as on the tank gauge so obviously all was well and no leaks. Also tells me that I can mostly trust the tank gauge. Where I think it will be particularly useful is when using small disposable cylinders (as I often do when MIG welding) and with no tank gauge there is no real way of knowing if enough gas it getting through other than by listening to the hiss and deciding it sounds about right. I haven't tried the tool yet on my MIG but I'm sure it will make a big difference and I'll probably set it for less flow than when using the hiss test. Very pleased overall and highly recommended.

Quality is poor
This set is alright if your getting into welding but the quality isn't amazing, the threads are not the best and the collects don't really hold the tungsten very tightly, I would recommend ditch the metal parts and the cups alone are OK

Too short for my torch.
Bought these for TIG torch at work and they are about 12mm too short.Should have read the description I suppose.

Can be an ABSOLUTE gamechanger!!!
Learning to TIG weld, and things were not going well. After purchasing this, I discovered that what my on-tank flow meter said, and what was coming out of my torch were vastly different.I set my flow rate using this device, and TIG welding all of a sudden became SO easy. By far the best money I have spent on welding supplies. Trust, BUT verify........ (I put a piece of masking tape on the scale of my flow meter, and marked it correctly based on what was coming out of my torch.)

Does not work.
The ball inside tube is stuck at the bottom and does not move at all with blow of gas.

Great quality
I got these cable adapters to make some TIG handles for use with a resistant soldering unit I am building. These will allow me to connect the silicone wire to the adapter and then will thread onto the tig torch handle. These are great quality and much better than some others I have bought in the past.
