Just arrived and these cubes are much larger than expected. Will the cube be consumed? Do I throw the cube away at some point?

you can break the cubes up if you like. yes throw them a way when the mice are gone or keep it out for returning mice in a safe place

144, or 72? Title and picture says "Pail of 144", but in "specifications" it says 72.

Even the seller seems wrong. The ad says 1 ounce each. Multiply that times the 144 shown on the label and you have 9 lbs which is also on the label. No where do I find a quantity of 72 for sale but I have a couple of tubs of 64 in the garage and that agrees with the 4 lb label on the side. 72 would equal 4.5 lbs which I have not seen but if thats the case we have a bit of bait (funny) and switch according to the folks who answered the question including the seller. Lets hope its just confusion and not worse.

Do i need to use a bait station since i have a rat problem in the attic to ue this product

Yes you must put them in bait stations. I sell them in my amazon store. However I would not use bait inside. You risk them dying inside the wall and you not being able to find them. They your house will stink of dead rodents. Get the bait stations and and bait and put them outside your home and then set rat snap traps in the attic.

Does this product have a hole in the center as shown in the pictures ?

yes all bait blocks have hole in middle to install in bait stations
