Hellboy [4K UHD + Blu-ray]

This movie has slowly become one of my favorite films. And the franchise itself is one of my top 25 franchises of all time.The movie has never looked better than it does now on 4K. This is a great popcorn flick. Meaning you can just shut your brain off and truly just enjoy this movie on the big screen with a bag of popcorn. I mean that in the best way possible!

If you are a fan of Guillermo del Toro, gritty superhero movies inspired by graphic novels or comic books, or you are a fan of the actor Ron Perlman, then I would say that this is a must have for your movie collection.This is the origin story of Hellboy. del Toro is faithful to the source material, and a lot of the film is shot with practical effects, which help the film stand up to time. The CGI is done well and also looks good.Both the 122-minute theatrical cut and the extended, 132-minute Director's Cut are included on the UHD disc. This is a brand-new 4K scan of the original 35mm camera negatives, and the Ultra HD face-lift and HDR improvements are noticeable shows over the previous Blu-ray release. Additionally the audio has been upgraded to Atmos from the original 5.1 soundtrack and is an added benefit to this release of the film.If you are a fan of collecting 4k UHD HDR films, I would recommend this film.

I shared the movie with my kids. The writing, acting and special effects are as good as any movie today. Wish they let him make the third movie.

Language choices and excellent picture

at this price rather dismayed.. Most people own and want the Directors Cut. So more blu ray only stuff. Why digital exists well it's mainly for backup. But it's nowhere near in quality and sound and features to blu rays and 4K UHD disks. So if you are buying this for the Directors digital copy, don't. And mine I ordered for a day vacation on Sat. Ordered it on Thurs for Sat delivery, they shipped it late Friday night so it came Sunday. No clue when I'll have time to watch it now. Slow shipping
