Comparison of multiple Zenport sicklesHistory: The first Zenport sickle I bought was the K315 brush clearing, which I reviewed at the link below. So this review is an update to include the new models and configurations I purchased since then. The primary difference between the two blade styles, is the brush clearing (K310, K315) are traditional longer sickle shape; the harvest (K311, K312) sickle is a heavier, thicker, shorter blade. In my experience, the harvest is actually much better as a brush clearing sickle, as the heavier blade will go through 1/2" branches in a single blow, and 3/4"-1" branches in a couple of hits.Blade Details: All sickles are sharpened in an asymmetric fashion, much like Japanese sushi knives, which are flat on one side, and sharpened on the other. The benefit is that they are easier to sharpen; but this configuration does lend to a slight side ways movement especially in heavier materials like thick grass, or branches.Handle Details: In my K315 review, I found that the orange handle actually loosened after being used in a heavy downpour, which was remediated by wrapping the handle with Type 2 nylon cord. The nylon cord wrap adds signicant grip, which I only discovered once I switched over to one that did not have the nylon cord wrap. The best weeder!
I needed a weeder that would destroy large crabgrass patches in my garden. This baby is a beast to slice these weeds out. It’s fun to slay crabgrass with this hearty tool. Worth every penny.

Sharp as a razor
Cheesy sheath is more of a plastic envelope but you're not gonna keep it in there anyway. Excellent shape for trimming, shaping and... other things.
