GOOD FINISH and FIT. NO problems with mounting hardware fitting
Great fit and finish. I did have to add the extension as the tires we prefer are THE ONLY 35x12.50 that haven't fit the factory size rim with larger tires. Radar Renegade RT, KNOW for being closer to actual size, Paired with the extender it's a great set up that raises the stakes for looks and performance of a well outfitted and USED off road machine. Went in easy and provides a ton more of confidence to the flimsy door metal, for larger/custom wheels/tires.

Fit and finish is great, but……
I installed the tail gate reinforcement bracket to support 75 pound 33’s and I’m not disappointed. It was easy to install and looks good. I had read that the supplied screws were too long but thought how could the manufacturer get that wrong. Well, they got it wrong. When I tightened the 4 screws the panel on the inside of the tail gate was pushed off. I had to remove the 4 bracket mounting screws, one at a time, cut off 1/2 inch and then retorque each one. Not a big deal. Just a nuisance.

Bolts too long, why do I need all this, sent it back
I paid $100 for a piece of steel I could have cut myself. Ripoff city. a fair price would be maybe $40. I sent it back.

A must get part if you have aftermarket tires
Worth the investment. I had a 2014 JK with aftermarket tires that over the years caused the tail gate to not seat properly and created a gap that caused a vibration noise. This, hopefully, will prevent that.Take aways:The heads on the bolts should be black.Do NOT open the tailgate once you remove the four hinge bolts that are through the tail gate. I did not because I had removed the door bolts on the previous Jeep from the door itself and had a hard time getting it to fit properly after I reinstalled those bolts.Took about 30 Minutes to install. I recommend you install a tire relocating system, 2 brackets, while you are doing it. Moves the tire up about 2" and out about 1.5".Great product.

Great for appearance, ok for function
To start with, the product is solid. installation was easy. Did have to make modification to the hardware. The bolts supplied are too long, one lock washer broke as I was torquing it down. I did have to paint the bolts because I just did not like how the raw metal looked and was able to replace the lock washer. Unfortunately, it will not help keep the weight of the tire from flexing the tail gate on rough roads. I was able to get the tail gate to vibrate while mimicking being off road. For the price, I guess it works as it should for now. Will end up changing the set up as I build my Jeep for the Trails. Sorry Rough Country but I think this product is more for looks than functionality.

value-effectivness
Two bolts (top/bottom) closest to gate hinges are TOO long and push the inside gate molded cover away from the gate. Had to substitute shorter bolts. Other than that, great product..

Works-ish
The included hardware for the 4 hinge bolts is incorrect for the JL. The included bolts are too long and push the inner gate panel off. I have contacted RC and sent photos etc of the issues and of the easy fix. They don’t care.So I’m helping you peeps that will run into this issue soon as you mount it up. You need 4-m10 1.50x50 bolts in order for this to work. The RC bolts as you can see in the photos are far longer than the replacement ones. The black lines on the bolt next to the appropriate sized one is the only threads that are catching. Which is dangerous considering you’re trying to run 100lb+ wheel and tire that is held on by a few threads. With the inner panel removed you can see how much of that bolt is sticking out. The thread locker is completely past the threads. Again swap the bolts out for the right ones. Be safeUPDATE:Another issue I noticed after swapping the RC tire carrier part for the third warranty claim replacement in three months. Which this one shipped already rusting and has chipped powder coat right out the box.If you look at the reinforcement plate in my photos, you can see that is it is not cut right. The left side does not clear the vent housing on the gate. You can see the difference in the shot where the bar runs between the vents how much it’s biased to the right. These parts are actually made in the US and the QC is the worst I’ve ever seen or had with a product and I’ve bought a lot of jeep parts, from bunch of different manufacturers.I’m working on my 4th warranty claim for a simple productMisaligned and welded pieces, poor packaging and incomplete powder coat, wrong hardware, missing hardware, rusting.Don’t buy this, spend the money and get an actual carrier/reinforcement
