Excellent coffee!
I got a bag of Al Ameed as part of a birthday gift for my husband, who makes himself a seperate cup of coffee every morning, preferring it to the pot of coffee I have made. (bvut, in fairness, I am typically up much earler so the coffee is not too fresh when he wakes up).I am a little extreme about coffee. I probably have a dozen coffee pots/ makers, to include plunge pots, mokka pots, espresso and drip machines, and assorted pour-over filters. I also buy the best beans I can, preferring single estate. In short, I am pretty picky about coffee. This is probably the only preground coffee I have purchased in 20 years, and I was not sure that it was the best way to go. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I did expect it to be good, or I would not have purchased it, but it was even better than I expected.I probably should not be reviewing it, since I did not purchase it for myself, but my husband generously offered to share. The cardamom really adds something very nice. The aroma is wonderful, and the coffee is very rich, not bitter, well roasted. It is a very good, very satisfying cup of coffee.I undoubtedly will be purchasing it again.

The BEST Arabic (Turkish) coffee!
The very best Arabic coffee. When I lived in Jordan, I used to buy this in Amman from the Al-Ameed store, and simply opening this bag of coffee brought back the memories of those visits and the wonderful smell of coffee and hale (cardamom). I was craving this and am so pleased to be able to order it directly from Amazon!

Tastes just like the Arabic coffee I had in Israel
I took a trip to Israel in October of 2022 and while there was introduced to "Arabic coffee" with cardamom. It tasted delicious and I bought some and brought it home and I used all of it. I found this because it says it's the number one coffee in Jordan, which is right below Israel. I've been told that the cardamom coffee is actually Arabic coffee and real Turkish coffee doesn't have cardamom. Either way, this tastes exactly like the coffee I got in Israel and it has the mud on the bottom with a strong cardamom taste. So it's an Arabic coffee not so much as a "Turkish coffee," but it is exactly what I hoped it would be after running out of the stuff I brought back from Israel.

dark roast is strongly doused w/ cardamom-- loses coffee flavor
Must love cardamom. I can give it 5 stars for quality, but in the taste category (and overall rating) I am giving it 4 stars. I know this is a preference thing, rather than a quality thing. So if you really like cardamom then go for it. I like cardamom, but this is rather strong. I taste that more than the coffee itself. If I could at least still taste the dark coffee, then I would like this a lot more. If you like strong cardamom then you will be pleased with this. If you want to try this anyway, know that the quality is quite good. I plan to add in some supplemental dark roast without cardamom to see if I can get a more balanced flavor. I never add cream or sugar to my coffee, and I find I need both to mellow out the cardamom.I love a good cup of Turkish coffee. I have learned to look for dark roast, as many of the offerings available tend to default to a light, very green tasting roast. Anytime I have had it in an restaurant, it has always been dark roast, which is my preference for coffee anyway. The darker the better. Black. No sugar. No cream. This small bag (in a box) of coffee is powdery as expected. Dark and rich smelling. I have the "with cardamom" option. Like I said.. the flavor is robust. I think I may cut in some fine ground dark coffee, or see if they offer a dark roast without it. I like it enough to finish it, but likely wont buy it again. Yet, I like the quality of the brand enough to want a non cardamom option.I prepare it as it should. I use an Ibrik over a gas burner. I am not good at making it. My foaming skill is not as good as I want, but the coffee at least tastes pretty good. I love strong, bold flavor of Turkish coffee. I never water it down.I really like that this company has so many offerings-- dark, medium, light roasts, some with cardamom, some without. I think I will try the French Roast so long as it doesnt have cardamom (or at least less of it). Otherwise will try another brand.

Best coffee. I have tried it all
Best coffee. I have tried it all. It is so smooth, so finely ground, it can even be made by adding tea spoons of the coffee to very hot water just like instant. Can't beat the convenience. Don't need any coffee maker, and don't have to wait. It is consistently good. The cardamom is such a nice touch. Just like Scandinavian baked goods. And it doesn't make one jittery as some of the American or European brands of coffee. Less acidic too so easier on the stomach. In the era of coffee pods, this is a much much better alternative all around, including the environment, health, taste etc. Price is lower in local stores but the convenience of ordering is worth a small markup.
