This product has been in my emergency supply bin for several years, in unopened original packaging. I purchased it new, here on Amazon. When recently doing my annual gear inspection, I found that the flint stick is disintegrating. The product says it has a limited lifetime warranty and to "see website for details", but the listed website and facebook page are not functional and there was no answer at the listed phone number.

These work pretty well the big advantage is you can use it with one hand.But check your survival kit on a regular basis.I recently checked my small survival to replace expired meds and check on contents.The blastmatch had corroded and the spring failed to work.But my Doan magnesium and fire steel ( same as issued in military survival kits) had also corroded.I could still start a fire with either.For the blastmatch, I used my knife as a striker with the rod.But I could no longer use it one handed.Note this was kit was stored in my truck box for years.I'm going to try lubricating and storing both the Doan and other strikers in zip lock bags.
