Absolutely great and comes with a converter!
Great writing experience for fans of extra fine nibs. It goes smoothly on paper, doesn't scrath and leaves a fine line similar to a classic pen. The pen is lightweight, so it is suitable for children. My kids loved the vivid colours, it feels more personalised. And as it comes with converter, you can purchase ink if any colour you need and just keep refilling insead of going through tonnes of plastic cartridges.

Surprised!!
A very decent clone of the Parker 51. Writes well and feels comfortable too. Only gripe is that it could have been a little heavier hence the 4 stars, otherwise a great pen for the price. Recommended.

Great pen!
I bought the Jinhao 51A to journal with- It's been writing wonderfully so far. It's possibly thicker than an "extra fine" (picture attached for reference) but that's not been an issue for me. It does not leak and it feels great to hold, the colours on the barrel are pretty as well. I love it for its price point as its a lot more affordable than some of its counterparts on Amazon. I would say though, that you probably shouldn't travel with it since the cap does not have a screw mechanism its simply pressed on and prone to come off if it's placed with a book inside a bag. But all-in-all, a great purchase!

Not bad for a tenner!
I like the look of this pen with its clear reference to the iconic Parker 51 and its hooded nib. I am also pleasantly surprised at how well it writes. There's not scratchiness, it's smooth across the paper and writes more akin to a fine nib than the extra fine that it's sold as. It comes fitted with a converter so you can start straight away with bottled ink.The amber colour is not as bright as in the photos but it still has an attractive look to it. The barrel and section together are very light at 12g with ink, with the metal cap adding a bit of weight.I took a punt with this and I'm pleased I did.

A nice writer but only suitable for rough/normal paper
I have bought two Jinhao's and they are both nice pens BUT only really work on normal paper. When used on my Rhodia notepad, it often skips as there is not enough friction to draw in onto the paper. Sure you could press harder but my natural writing style means skipping on fine/smooth paper

Smooth writing experience + comes with converter!
I've heard mixed things about Jinhao pens but I really do reccomend this one - the nib is wonderful at writing and it's very smooth. It's also quite light rate so easy to put in a pen case and take around. It comes with a convert so bottled ink is easy to use - it does get messy though like most other converter pens!

Pretty to use pen with not great plunger
I do use this pen a lot but the nib dries out because the plunger has a lot of air in it. I have had to push in the plunger to re-establish ink to the nib. I still like the pen and use it all the time, but I wish I could use cartridges instead.

LOVE this pen!
Usinng with brown ink, this is my second fountain pen, and the first with fine-tipped nib. It's now my everyday pen for note taking at my desk and journal writing. If it breaks I'll have to get a new one.The celluloid borwn deisgn is pretty and understated too, looks fancy but not flashy.
