Much sturdier and balanced than first appearances
When the book seat (don't like the name) arrived it looked way too small and stiff to be of use to me. I always read hardcovers and usually quite thick. I tested it with a famously thick book, War and Peace and it held perfectly. The see through page holder can stretch out as far as you need to accommodate book size. I would imagine a very tall book like a coffee table book would be hard to manage, but they're not meant to be read lying down. Second, I had the impression it would be really bean baggy, really floppy on the bottom to adjust well to all irregular surfaces. Again, it looked too small and thin on the bottom. But it works pretty well, and you'd have to work at it to knock it over. So it gets five stars for the book holding function.the only negative for me is the page turning. They say it's "incredibly easy" but that's not true. But I don't think it's possible with any book stand. You don't have to pick the book up, turn page and put it back in again. You leave the book alone, which is a plus. And pulling the page holder is easy, at which point you have two options. First, you can pull it down so it completely clears the book, then turn the page. This is what I do and works ok if a bit awkwardly with big hardcover books. I don't see it working with paperbacks without the book closing and losing your page. For those books, I think you keep the book holder upright and pull it out about an inch so the book can't shut, then you sort of fold the page you're turning up at the bottom to clear the page holder. Both options are easier than my confusing description, and probably as easy as it gets. But it's still a bit messy.I spent a lot of time on my one slight criticism, but as I said I think all similar products have that. Overall it's a great product.

Book lovers dream!
The media could not be loaded. Husband bought this as a surprise Christmas gift. This is the gift I didn’t know I needed. Not only can I read my books comfortably where ever I’m sitting (in bed, on chair or couch, lounging by the pool) but I can also read my book while using my walking pad…just set the Bookseat on the island counter or on a stand desk over your walking pad and voila! I highly recommend this gift for any book lover! Also, this product can easily be used for a tablet or phone stand as well. Really countless uses!

Very handy
The media could not be loaded. Works perfectly! Light weight, soft, well made, nice color, and comfortable. It’s very easy to use and adjustable for multiple size books. It also works well with my cell phone. It has a very well thought out design. It could also double as a travel pillow. It is a little pricey (the reason I took one star off), but worth it for me since I read all the time. If it was a little cheaper, I’d buy a bunch of them as Christmas gifts. I have a giant family though so not in my gift budget unfortunately.

Best invention for book readers!
This is the best invention for book readers. I read in bed and have struggled getting a comfortable place on my lap to put my book. This book seat has a bean bag on the bottom and will conform to the right fit. Love it!!

Perfection
Doctor suggested a book holder since my CMC arthritis was getting in the way of reading. I have a Kindle but prefer paper. Looked at all the options in Amazon and chose this. The acrylic lip is sturdy enough to hold a 400 page book. To turn a page, just fold down the acrylic lip towards you. Works better than hoped for!

Holds book alright
The band that supposed to hold the book also pushes it up when you tighten it and sometimes pushes the book out of the clear holder. Still does its job for the most part but sometimes can be tedious changing pages.

Easy to use book rest
I like the color, texture and style of this bookrest. The bar holding book in place is best for paperback or lightweight books. I use to lean my Ipad mini or cell phone while I am sitting at the table. I am cautious not to soil the fabric. Haven't tried to wash
