3 yo loves to play
This game is perfect for toddlers. We got it for our 3 yo daughter for Christmas and we play it quite a few times a week. It’s cooperative so noTears and it helps her understand what it is to play a board game. It’s a great first game. She doesn’t totally get the strategy yet but it’s still fun for her. BEST IS ITS ONLY LIKE 15 min GAMES LOL

Great game for young kids
I’ve bought more than one of the Hoot Owl Hoot games as well as a few of the other Peaceable Kingdom games. I bought the first one for one set of grandkids and just bought this one for our other daughter’s son who just turned 3. This one is listed as 4+year olds, but it can be actually be used with kids a little younger since you can modify the game play by using fewer baby owls that need to get to the nest before the sun comes up. The cooperative nature of the game means that you are helping your child (or grandchild) rather than competing with him/her, while also teaching colors, rules, counting and one-to-one correspondence, directionality, etc. You’re also helping them learn that sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, but you’re doing it together against the game. It also teaches strategy and as kids get older they learn how to select which color card and which owl is more advantageous to move. Great concepts, adorable characters and story, and fun!

Simple rules, but has room for skills improvements
Cooperative game. Children don't compete. Good for a range of ages. You can help younger children to make good moves. And for older children there is some room to find combinations and better strategies, something to think and talk about.

Got for four year old, she still loves it at almost six!
My granddaughter has enjoyed this game for over a year now. She was four, will be six in a few months. Perfect for two of us, or a group. Has lasted all this time, great value, would buy from this seller again!

Great game for older toddler through preschool
This is the perfect game for a child who can pay attention for 10 minutes or so. My granddaughter is almost 3 years old and she loved this game. This game reinforces identification of colors, taking turns and working together. An older preschooler can also enjoy some strategy play as well. There is just enough “suspense” of trying to get all the owls to bed before the sun comes up. Highly recommend this as a first board game!

Cute
Super cute, simple game. Just wish the pieces were a little more durable considering it’s a game for children
