This book really gives good tips to help with the search. I'll update if I snag something with the changes.

Alan has published another awesome book that is dedicated to the development and progression of HR Professionals. The beauty is that none of Alan's books are based on some theory. Instead, it is based on the insights of a Fortune 100 Sr. Vice President of HR. As someone who reviews and evaluates resumes daily, I believe Alan has provided a simple step by step guide for writing an awesome HR resume! Additionally, the content of this book can be applicable to any professional that is looking to build a resume that grabs the attention of a recruiter and hiring manager!

A superb "how to" for HR professionals at any stage of career. The practical advice and guidance is specifically beneficial to HR professionals, but also for anyone who wants to have a more impactful resume (or series of resumes).

The content of the book is fairly straight forward. By that I mean I didn't find anything I read to be ground breaking. That is not to say the book doesn't have it's merits. For me - I do find it helpful to read how other's craft their resume as it helps me to re-affirm that I am following best practices. The book is worth purchasing if you haven't updated your resume in quite a while or if you need some affirmation that your resume is professionally written (as I did).The biggest negative comment I have is the lack of proper editing of the book. There were numerous misplaced/missing words. Because of that I would be embarrassed to recommend the book at more than 2 stars.

Alan's book is a must have for every HR professional! Unemployed 18 months, 13 years experience, graduate degree, hence, this places me in the 'seasoned' category with few interviews. I'd succumbed to despair until I read this book (and I've read many) each chapter provides specific and reality-based information on search techniques; cover letters; resumes; interviewing; overcoming obstacles (age, long-term unemployment, gaps, newbie, changing industries, lack of degree, etc.). I'm motivated to start my search today - thanks Alan for sharing your wisdom! Keep writing

I read this book and redesigned my resume to fit the recommendations all in one day. I then applied for jobs that evening with my new resume. The next day, I already had 3 responses. My profession is HR, yet I learned so much from this book.Update: I landed the position I wanted the most out of the 3 interviews. I'd recommend this book one thousand times over.

After six months of aggressive job hunting after getting laid off in the energy industry, I purchased the HR Resume Secrets and HR Interview Secrets and landed a fantastic job with a software company within a month after employing Alan's secrets!

I read this book thinking it was just "like the other resume books". I made the changes and I received more interviews. Thanks!
