Chiquilin Mild, Smoked and Hot Spanish Paprika Set (Pack of 3)

I used these in a couple sausages I made with this year's deer and some pork back fat. Also used them in a few pasta sauces. And lastly, we tried all 3 by hand, tasting a pinch straight-up. They are really good, and really fresh. Great flavor all around, good heat in the hot and smoke in the smoked as well as just excellent paprika flavor. Also, the tins are cute....part of me wants to put them along the top of my stove as a "decoration" but the paprika is good enough I am not willing to run it through the extra heat....maybe later I'll use the empty tins for decorating, but the pimento is just way too good right now. Very pleased, will absolutely buy again.

I was looking for smoked paprika and found this set with mild, smoked, and hot paprikas. I tried the smoked and it was delicious! I tasted the mild and hot but won't be certain until I use them in a recipe. The lids are a little funky to work with but if you are older you will have seen these type of lids before. If not, a butter knife works perfect to get them open without bending the lid. Just hold it against the crack between the can and the lid and twist the knife upward to separate the can and the lid. It should come open fairly easily. These are made in Spain as seen in the photo.

This Chiquilin hot paprika has a great pop of spicy heat! My family loves it on everything from stew to potato salad or even popcorn. Excellent addition to our spice rack.

Typically, ingredients with the best flavors, at the best price point is the goal.This set come with three types of Spanish Paprika, and there is a big difference between sweet, smoked, and hot.Sweet PaprikaSweet paprika adds amazing color to any dish… Think of a plate of deviled eggs or a bowl of potato salad sprinkled with sweet paprika, and you get the idea. This version delivers a sweet peppery flavor, without heat, and that is exactly what it is supposed to do.Smoked PaprikaSmoked paprika is made from peppers that are smoked and dried over oak fires; generating a rich red color and distinctive smoky taste. You can find this smoked paprika in mild, medium, and hot. I would place this version in the smokey/medium category. It delivers good smoky flavor (like grilling over wood) with just a slight hint of heat.Hot PaprikaHot paprika is considered the most flavorful of the three, and even comes in a smoked version. It should add a peppery, spicy kick to a dish (think Hungarian goulash). This version delivers a good kick, and I detect a hint of smoke.Bottom LineTo be sure there are other versions out there; however, for the price, and the delicate palettes of my clients, I consider this a good buy with great flavor.One more thing… the expiry date on these tins is mid 2023, so it is obviously fresh.Let me leave you with a few photos of dishes cooked with paprika. Very pungent flavor and smell. Quality paprika

I've been using this in some new recipes, and it adds a nice kick. I'd looked for hot paprika at local grocery and import stores without luck, so was glad to find it here. The paprika seems to be fresh and tasty, and has an expiry date in 2021, so I should be able to use it up by then, easy. I was a little curious how big a tin I was getting, so here's the size: it's about 2 1/2" across x 2" deep x 2 3/4" tall, a bit chunkier than the spices at the supermarket. The lid was a little tricky to remove, it fits OVER the hole, not inside it, so a knife blade does the trick. Look close and you'll see where the lid is. (It's not like the Nestle's Quik lids we used to have when they had metal tins, it opens differently.) Now I close it almost all the way, but leave a tiny sliver so I can pop it next time. Definitely worth buying.

Awesome flavor. Cap is kinda hard to remove but the spice is amazing and three levels of flavor from sweet to smokey. 👩‍🍳
