Just What I Needed
Play guitar in a church Worship Team and the instrument cable was much too long - tripped on it once. This 5' is the perfect length. D'Addario makes some good stuff. Have never been disappointed. Great products.

edit - whatever was happening yesterday is now gone, updated review.
For whatever reason when I first tried this cable I had major hum. I don't mean like a little bit of hum you can weed out with a noise gate. I mean cold solder hum.Spent last two days playing with my old fender cable I was replacing which has been frayed and eaten alive... I couldn't decide if I was going to splice this one up and fix it, or fix my old one and just tape up the ends with electrical tape. Long story short, right before I was going to order some solder to fix my old one, I decided to try this cable again..it worked. Has been great the last few hours and Ive been moving it around twisting it etc. Must'a just been some dirt or something on the end or in my plug. I used compressed air blew everything out just to make sure. Cable construction is great... so whatever that hum was is ho hum gone and I couldn't be happier then pigs in a muddy pen.

Good cables.
These cables work very well and are low noise. The connectors are nice and sturdy and will not pull loose from the cable. Gold plating is nice. I like the 5' length for use with effects loops or other short cable runs.

Nice, solid cable
Nice, solid cable. I got the 5 foot long one. BUT - it did not come with one of those great Planet Waves elastic cord ties! One of these came with the 10 foot long version I got a year ago. Bummer. Now I'll need to buy the multi-pack just to get the one cable tie I need to keep this cable from tangling up in my cable & accessories gig bag. If it had come with a Planet Waves Elastic Cable Tie I'd have given it 5 stars. I hope you are listening, Planet Waves (and parent company D'Addario).

amazing the difference
I don't normally write reviews unless I'm really amazed or disappointed with a product.I have a high gain setup where my signal chain is an ESP Eclipse II with a Duncan A8 bridge pickup into an MXR M-108 10 Band EQ and then into the rest of the signal chain (wah, overdrive, blackstar head, and a bunch of stuff in the loop that isn't relevant).I was encountering a big problem with noise which, according to all the testing I could do, was being driven by my EQ (ie, if I remove the eq from the chain, problem solved). Besides the usual floor noise and hiss coming from the EQ, which I am willing to deal with, every time I would mute the strings I would get a quickly deteriorating squeal for maybe a fraction of a second. This KILLS any palm muting and makes you sound like garbage.I bought an ISP Decimator G-string, which does a great job of killing a lot of other noise, but it wouldn't kill this particular issue unless I really crank down the clamps and then your dynamics are gone.I moved cables around, replaced my cables with some of better quality (the standard planet waves; nice but not like the custom series), moved things around in the signal chain, etc.I went as far as to order an Elevon Audio MXR Eq (modded with new hardware to kill the noise).Floor noise from the EQ was greatly reduced, but the muting squeal noise was still there and I was on the verge of just deciding to accept defeat and turn it all down.As a fluke, I got a new pedal and ran out of space- I needed to rearrange my rig and bought a couple of these Planet Waves Custom series cables. Knowing that cables do make a difference, I decided to use the two cables I bought in what I expected to be the most likely to be causing noise...the guitar-to-eq cable and the eq-to-decimator guitar-in (the tracking path).PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Upon further experimentation, the two things I found to be important were the cable between the EQ and the Decimator G String, and the guitar cable. Didn't matter the configuration of the pedal board. These cables are SO worth the money if you have weird noise problems and play with high gain.I will be upgraded all of the cables and patches in my chain with these in the near future. Love it.

You want great cables??
Look no further...You will not be let down by the build quality of these cables nor by the sound quality. I have a Monster M ROCK-12 cable. Put up against these, I fail to distinguish the difference in sound. The only difference? Price. These cables are the ONLY cable I will ever use from now on. Go ahead, buy them. You will love them.
