So far, so good
Well so far so good after a few weeks. I have flowers in the garden which were always eaten by deer, but they are still there now since using deer-out. The real test will be in the Fall when deer are all over the lawn then.

Nice Scent
I prefer the scent of this product over the garlic repellants. Also, it works.

works apparently
sprayed this on just planted baby laurels. Seems to work, hoping to not have to reapply. Easy to spray with backpack sprayer, odor is barely noticeable from a few feet away.

So far, so good! Review from 2015 updated in 2024
So far, so good. We bought an acre in Pennsylvania, and the former owner was an avid gardener - she left us delightful vegetable, flower, and shade gardens all over the property. PA is overrun with deer, and this is a rural area backing onto a state park, so wild life abounds. Our neighbors also garden and they recommended Deer Out as they all use it, and say it works. Well, I promptly received my order, but before I got to spraying it, the deer found the back plot full of bulb sprouts, and enjoyed an all-you-can-eat buffet. The next morning I found the remains of their deer banquet and was dismayed, but was thankful they only got that one back planter. I looked at the rest of my gardens and thought "You're next!" so I grabbed the Deer Out, diluted as per the instructions, and sprayed everything. I even sprayed the bulb stubs in hopes they would grow back. They did completely grow back and are lush and big - the deer never returned for anything, not even our hostas (and you gardeners all know deer just LOVE hostas!). I sprayed a couple of times after heavy rains. Anyway, so far, it's worked, we are now 2 months into the growing season. I'll report back later to let you know how the product worked throughout the remainder of the summer.UPDATE on June 20, 2015My veggies are growing and so far, still, so good. I've been using this product for a few months now and have been very pleased. I will update later in the season to let you all know if it's still working.SECOND UPDATE on July 30, 2015Veggie garden and all plants on the property still intact, including hostas and other deer favorites. Haven't sprayed in many weeks, and all is still well. Pleased with product. It worked for me, as it has for my neighbors.UPDATE on Sept 26, 2015I must say, this did work. I now have converted my summer garden to an autumn garden with the cooler crops and we have not had ANY deer damage AT ALL. I haven't sprayed in a couple of months, but will give a last spray to the Fall veggies, just in case. I will definitely purchase this product next year. I thought it was a bit expensive and that I'd have to buy a few of these to last all season, but actually, after several initial sprayings, I no longer had to spray, so it was just one container that I bought after all (just as my neighbor told me hers lasted her all season, too). We have seen deer a few times, but they never touched anything we planted, not even hostas or other deer favorites. Quite pleased. Hope it works as well next year!UPDATE 2024 - we've been using this spray since 2015. It works. I've expanded our little homestead, we have many kinds of fruit trees, berry shrubs and bushes, flowers, big veggie garden that's been expanded 3 times, fence is only 4 feet high (yes deer can easily hop it). Other goodies we have that deer like are roses, hostas and hydrangeas. Deer walk through our yard and around our property on a regular basis. They do NOT eat my plants. This stuff works, I swear by it, and a bottle lasts longer than a season. Now, I often spray it after heavy rains. I don't take chances that it may wear off. I am pretty good about spraying regularly. There have been a few times when I neglected to spray for several weeks and the deer did eat something. I even spray in my garden because they can hop the fence. I spray the peas and greenbeans that grow along my fence, it keeps them off. They go to my neighbor's house and eat HER peas on HER fence (because she often forgets to spray her deer out). So, I LOVE this product. None of my friends can believe how much food I grow. They say, "How do you do it? The deer eat EVERYTHING I try to plant!" I tell them about Deer Out but no, they simply do not believe it could possibly work. IT WORKS! You certainly are better off spraying more often. I spray after heavy rains. If it hasn't rained for a few weeks I'll usually go spray just in case. I like to err on the side of caution. I put an ounce of it in a spray bottle, fill with water, and keep in in easy reach so I'm never too lazy to spray. I walk around my property and just spritz everything they like. Easy.

Sort - of - works
We have myriad deers running about the yard and all of our flora and fauna take the punishment. Add in the scores of rodents, rabbits, moles, voles, and pocket gophers, and thus started the war of man against nature. I love having them in my yard, and they can enjoy my grass, weeds, and some of my tree leaves, but the amount of destruction has been astronomical. So chemical warfare was the first line of defense, as we wanted them to visit, just not munch on certain plants. Deer Out was highly recommended, but it did little to keep the wee beasts from the delicious flowers and delicate leaves. To be fair, we have rotated a multitude of different concoctions. Some worked well, but the smell was not tolerable. Others did nothing, and at worse, I believe that some added flavor. Now I mix my own concoction, which includes some deer out. I feel my secret ingredient that has deterred the deer from repeat buffets is the 1,000,000 Scoville pure capsaicin I add. I laugh as the little fauns attempt to devour the delicious and pungent red roses as they begin to bloom, but after just a taste I watch them smack their wee little lips for a bit. Alas, they soon forget the lessons of the past and within a fortnight they will try again, often with the same result. Persistence on both sides is needed. For me the main enemy is rain and my wonderful and loving wife watering the various plants and washing away the concoction of doom.Good luck, and keep the deer guessing. If you add capsaicin, be careful, it is like pepper spray
