I decided that I wanted to get into canning so I purchased this kit because it came with many things that would be useful for me as a beginner. My favorite tools in the kit is the wide funnel to make pouring easy with no spills and the tools to make sure that your lid is on properly and tightly. This kit is very affordable and everything in is it very well made!

Well made, good tools

Good kit for a beginning canner. Made some awesome jam with wild plums! It's not super high quality but it's the right stuff to get you started and the items definitely get the job done. The funnel is very handy and I tend to use it a lot for other food uses. My only complaint is that the image on the box implies that the jar-grabbing tongs (the item just to the upper left of the funnel in Amazon's product image) are rounded, to make it easier to grab the jars from the hot water bath. (Amazon's product image shows that tongs have straight, parallel grabbers.) You'd assume the packaging would have the correct image, and that's what I was hoping for, but what comes out of the box are straight-edged tongs. They make it a bit tricky to pull jars out of the hot water bath, and when you use them you have to pay close attention. (I let myself get distracted for just a moment and broke a jar lol.)*All around good set of supplies. I would recommend these to any beginning canner, or anyone looking to get a decent set of canning supplies at a reasonable price.*EDIT: I upgraded my 4 star rating to 5 because I was mislead by my own ultra-novice mistake-- I was using the wrong end of the tongs! XD My bad! So the tongs are actually pretty good at grabbing the jars. It's much easier to use when you're holding the right end of your tools!

This set is perfect for those just getting into canning. It’s basic but has everything you need to get started, and honestly, it holds up better than I expected. Sure, it’s not top-of-the-line, but for the price and functionality, it’s a solid deal. I’ve used it a few times, and it’s still going strong. 4 stars for being reliable and budget-friendly!

I bought these to help me with canning. The quality is good and the material is sturdy. These prevent me from getting burned when canning. The size is perfect for all my jars. The non slip material helps. I would recommend this to anyone that does any canning.

When I first started canning I had to search out an buy each of these items separately. That was decades ago, and I’m pretty sure I paid more then than this set costs now. It really gives you everything you need. It may seem silly, but the two pieces that I HAD to have in my new set was a tool to remove bubbles and a magnetic lid lifter. I’d have to include one of my kitchen knives in the sterilization process, and after sterilizing everything, I always felt I was making the edges of the lid dirty by touching it. Funny how the tiniest things can be so annoying. Anyway, seeing those two things in this set sealed the deal for me. Norpro is a name I count on for quality products and this set doesn’t disappoint. It really does give you everything you need. I love it, and I love that it’s made in the U.S.A.

got this set after getting my pressure canner and they are great- one tool helps you see how much head space you left in the jars, the funnel is great for filling jars easily, the tongs are great for getting the hot jars out of boiling water when you're sterilizing them, and the lifter tongs are great for getting your canned jars out of the canner once they're done
