impressed. i had an oster years ago.
we needed a new blender. when i grew up, in the 1980s, my family had an OSTER. and it was a workhorse (i think my parents STILL have it. anyhow, i figured I'd give oster a shot.i'm impressed. very smooth and does a nice job blending. (especially for the price)the cool thing is that it has1) a small attachment container for smoothies (i use this)2) a large attachment container for blending larger things like soups, etc (my wife uses this)washingafter using, take it all apart and put soap and water in, run the blender, then rinse. (yea, if you've using sticky stuff, you'll need to brush to clean it off)large rubber o-ring sealthe one area i can see some people having trouble is placing the grey rubber o-ring into the base and then removing it after in order to clean everything. but i like it. it allows me to really get ALL parts clean and this way i know there's no bacteria growing at the bottom of the container.it took me a few times, but you run your finger around the large rubber o-ring into the base and seal it in. yes, you need to avoid the sharp blades of course, but after a few times, it's easy. i have never cut myself.noisei've personally been looking for a quiet blender, but i think i've discovered no blenders are truly quiet (unless the have a massive cover like the ones at jamba juice). it's not quiet, but it's not crazy loud like the one we had.stainless steeli think the description says stainless steel. maybe the actual blade is, but the unit appears to be a metal-looking plastic. but it's fine and stable.

Blending Heavan
Well, a month ago the wife broke the lid on my Ninja Blender. The replacement lid was over 100 dollars, and even though I was mostly happy with the ninja. I figured for that money I may as well go back to Oster. Before the Ninja I owned a classic Oster Beehive. So frankly I picked this Oster based on price and the wide base. I have noticed with the Olde style narrow based osters don't perform that well against the newer wider based blenders. So when I saw Oster had a wide based offering I decided to give that a try. I love this blender. It has 3 speeds, the low is slow enough to be useful with thick liquids and the high seems as high as my old beehive and definitely faster than the ninja. This Oster has some preprograms you can run which are pretty straight forward. If you select Salsa, it will run a program that pumps on and off at various speeds which actually does work pretty well for making salsas of various consistencies. The Smoothie setting starts off slow and runs the blade forward and reverse a few times with a slight pause in between as it gains speed. The milkshake setting starts off slow and has several pauses in between as it gains speed. Mostly I use the Smoothie function as I find the forward and reverse action of the blade to really help get the I gredients mixed well with a even Consistency. My wife make salsa quite often and she is very happy with this blender as well. The clean up is similar to other Oster blenders, with the exception that the base is just wider. The blades still screw in, there is still a gasket, basically when I am done I take the blade off, rinse it, and then just rinse the jar straight out to. The only thing I would rather have is a glass jar. The plastic one gets the job done, but it did stain to a pink tinge after the wife made habenero salsa. The I Individual blendar cups are still crystal clear but I have only used them for making blended iced mochas.... Anyway I was pleasantly surprised with how good this blender performs. I recommend buying another blade set. The blendar jar and single serving jars, use differently bases and though you can move the blades from one base to the other easy enough, if the wife is making salsa and you want a mocha well without another blade you are sucking wind till she's done.....

Found it
Talk about a power house. I absolutely love, love, love this blender. It has all the horsepower you need. And no more stopping to pulse it. It does that automatically while blending. I was scared it was malfunctioning but wait for it,😃 it's supposed to do that so you don't have to stop, stir, start. The blade is super sharp and pointy so be very careful when reaching in to wash. The bottom separates/unscrews for easy cleaning of the pitcher. Haven't tried the processor yet but that was the determining factor for my purchase. I'm just soo hooked on being able to put all the things I want in my smoothies in this blender vs halving it in my nutri bullet. The presets are amazing. You get to choose texture settings, manual speeds & easily go from smoothie to milkshake to salsa. You can expect no more than top quality from the Oster brand. The pitcher holds 2L/2000 ml. So you will be very pleased to do parties as well as everyday applications in the kitchen. See pics for more awesome details. Will update when using the blender cups & food processor. I know I sound like I've been paid or am pitching for the company but NO I am an everday satisfied customer. I'm so stuck on the blender, it may be a while before I use the other pieces because I'm able to do it all with just the blender. Oh the blender sound is only semi loud, nothing to cause your neighbors to scream, nor you. Crushes ice like Paul Bunyun. I love this set so much because of the features & price point. I did soo many searches & checked all the reviews & settled on this one. I'M GLAD I DID!!!

Not all parts included
Some reviewers had said the shredding/slicer blade was not in the box and they were right. That and the adaptor for it was missing.I called Oster and they are sending it so I am satisfied with the response but why is it missing from so many boxes?Otherwise, this works great. I've used the large blender and smoothie cup and both are easy to use and make really smooth drinks.Looking forward to trying the food processor too.
