I have a 2007 Avalanche. I used 604-106 to replace the actuator in the bottom of the dash. There are other locations (like in the middle of the dash) for other issues. For me, I had a temperature changing issue. The door was stuck on cold for the drivers side. So if I turned it to hot it would get hot only on the passenger side and the drivers side would still be cold. It took less than a half hour for the whole process. There are (4) 7 mm screws to remove on the panel near the passengers feet. The Actuator was located directly above the center hump under the dash secured by (2) screws and had 1 electrical plug with a tab. I replaced Actuator and put it all back together. Turned the AC controls to off. I then took out the HVAC fuse (mine was under the hood) and put the fuse back in. Started the truck and let it run for a couple mins. Turned it off and then back on and adjusted the AC controls to test. Works great now. Hopes this helps someone :)
