Good tool to have for Jewelry lovers....Easy to use!
Had several rings that over time got a bit too tight to wear. Purchased this to take a chance at ring stretching on my own since the jewelry store has gotten really expensive to go up a half size on ring-sizing. Worked like a charm and was really easy to use. Learned that it works best on a piece of full grain when tapping to stretch unlike hard surface without cushioning results. What started out as a "give it a try" item ended up being used for all my rings that were too tight. It should be noted that this is good for going up a half size and up to 1 size depending on the thickness of the jewelry ban. men's rings tend to be thicker so I had no issues however have not tried it on a ladies ring. Also, this cannot be used on rings that have stones that are mounted on them as they take a different type stretch unit. Definitely would recommend and will buy again if this one wears out and I need another one.

Great ring stretcher - Worked Perfectly ∆∆∆
I used this manual ring stretcher to resize a 10K gold wedding band, and it worked great! Instead of using the nut all the way, I held it steady and tapped it with a rubber mallet while stretching. This gave me more control and helped the band expand evenly without any distortion. The tool is solid and well-made, and with a little patience, it does the job perfectly. If you're working with gold or other soft metals, this is a must-have for resizing rings. Highly recommend it for both jewelers and hobbyists!

Simple wedding band almost destroyed
I watched the video and followed the instructions precisely, hoping to give a minor stretch to my simple gold wedding band. After tapping the top part as described, I could not pull the rod out of the mandrel (the stretcher) and thus could not release my ring. I had not hit the rod hard, just tapped it as shown in the video, but it was completely stuck. It tried pulling it out with pliers, to no avail. Finally, I put one end in a vise and used pliers to turn the other end, and after much sweating was able to separate them and rescue my ring ... which had not even stretched at all! In the video, they do not show this step -- removing the rod from the mandrel. It just skips forward from tapping the rod to pulling off the ring as if by magic. I repeat: I followed the instructions exactly, but after an hour of wasted time, and much anxiety for my ring, this was the result. And now, I still have to take my ring to a jeweler to stretch, compounding the waste of money. I do not recommend this product.

Good product. Tips for you!
This is a good product, knocked only for lack of reasonable instructions and difficulty using as described.First consider that you are working metal, and the metal is tough. I don't think whacking it with a mallet is reasonable. So I thought of putting it in a vice, but don't have one at the moment. However I could quickly get a 6" C-clamp, and that is what is shown in the picture. Second suggestion is don't spare the grease it makes life easier!. A mallet is not shown but is necessary to get the pin out of the tool. Also not shown are vice grips that would be appropriate if you have not sized past bottom end of tool, into the recess in the little collet.I found this method far easier than the impact method. Since I had scrap to work with, the sample on the tool is about 6 mm wide, believed to be 14k, and I took it way bigger than recommended, using multiple passes.

Really useful tool
Bought a thick sterling wedding type band on line from Etsy and when it arrived I was disappointed to find that it was too small. The replacement and exchange options were too pricey to be practical so I ordered this tool, watched a few YouTube videos, went to work trying to stretch it, and voila!! The ring now fits perfectly. Really easy to use. Just go slowly when tapping the cone shaped plunger and keep checking the size to make sure you don’t overdo it. Helpful to grease the plunger and interior of ring so they slight apart easily. It does mark up the interior of ring a little bit, but not enough so that you feel it, and no one will see it. Pretty easy to buff it out a bit with a jewelers cloth. Really pleased with the ease of ude and great job this does. Highly recommended by a satisfied customer

Mostly does what it says
This really will only work on certain ring and really only change them a size. But if it just is a bit too tight then it’s worth the investment. Sometime it did get stuck and was hard to get it out of the ring.

Works great if used on gold or silver rings
I did not use a hammer to increase the size of my gold wedding band as suggested in the instructions. Instead I used a pipe clamp to squeeze the center mandrel in a controlled manner. That way the ring had time to adjust to a larger size slowly, doing no damage to the ring. I increased the ring size from a 8.5 to a 9.5.
