Excellent Blades
These are the best blades I have found for my Safety Razor, they are sharp, but not overly sharp. I switched from a Safety razor to a Henson Razor and this combination provides the best shave period and is great for the environment.

Excellent blade.
I'm very new to this type of shaving and so far I like it better than using cartridges. For one thing, the blades are WAY cheaper than cartridges. I got the Leaf Twig razor and it uses "half" a blade, so you actually "snap" a traditional blade in half (which is much easier and safer than it sounds), which means you get two blades instead of just one. Anyway, I've tried four brands including this Astra, and to make a long story short, here's a rating scale:1. Poor - Viking blades. I started shaving with one of these, and quit after two shaving strokes. The blade wasn't cutting well and it dragged, so I immediately went back to another brand. I returned these blades.2. OK - The Leaf blades. The handle is excellent, but the blades are just fair. Not using them any more.3. Better - Van der Hagen blades. These are good and are available on Amazon, or also a few local retailers. Pretty smooth blade.4. Best so far - Astra blades. I could tell a big difference on the very first stroke, and that's comparing them to the Van der Hagen blades. I'm still being careful regardless, but I didn't get one nick/cut, and the shave was great.I may try another brand just to keep experimenting, but I've read and been told that this type of shaving is much better for the skin. I got 20 Astra blades for $3.99, which when used with the Leaf razor, you're really getting 40 blades because you only use "half" a blade at a time. If you wonder what I'm talking about, just look up the Leaf razor and see for yourself, it's a good product. No, I'm not a Leaf employee and I'm not being compensated, I just comment positively if I like a product, period. The combination of the Leaf handle with the Astra blade is working great so far.

Good, mild shave
Good blades. I would recommend them as a starter blade for begginners, or a blade for seasoned wet shavers who want a milder blade for those days you want an easy shave without having to worry too much about nicks or irritation. These blades are pretty mild. That does not mean that I think they are lower quality, I just mean that they give a milder shave, with the tradeoff that you will have to do more passes to get really smooth. They are good quality, platinum coated stainless steel blades.I think these would be a great blade for beginners due to the mild, forgiving shave that they offer. They are mild, but also sharp enough to get in close (with more passes) if you so chose to. I (as a wet shaver with a bit more experience than a "beginner"), also like these blades for the days that I want an easy shave without having to worry too much about cuts, nicks, or irritation. I can still get in close (and even smooth), and I only have to do a couple more passes than usual. I think any experienced shaver would appreciate that for the days when they're feeling lazy and just want to have an easy shave. Now, I have found that these blades do dull quicker than feather blades, but that is not a big issue for me personally.Again, just to recap:I believe that both beginners and more experienced wet shavers could enjoy these blades due to the forgiving shave they offer, however they do seem to dull quicker.
