Perfect size for plane travel, great hybrid bag
Always EASILY fits under the seat on planes along with my purse, and holds a change of clothes, sweater, iPad & cords/chargers, a cosmetics bag, toiletry bag, and more, and has side pockets for a water bottle, etc. I hate dealing with the overhead bins because I’m short and also I don’t want to worry about fighting for space. Gave up on rolling “under-seater” bags for flights because these days one never knows if they’ll actually fit under the seat. A regular tote gets too cumbersome, especially if there’s a lot of trudging through airports and plane changing. For me, a backpack became the way to go. This one is a little smaller than average, making it ideal for my petite stature, and I like that it works as a tote as well. LOVE that it stands on its own - great feature when retrieving items. Baggallini bags are pretty durable, so for me it was worth the money to get the perfect not-too-big but bigger-than-child-size backpack/tote hybrid.

Well worth it.
Update: After owning and using this for nearly 2 years as my every day carry, I can say that I truly love this bag, and I have upgraded from 4 stars to 5 stars. It has held up very well under daily use and multiple trips abroad. It met the personal item requirements of Play Airlines, United, Virgin, SAS, and Air France, to name a few. As you can see in the photos, it has held up really well (despite spills inside and a broken ink pen—both times, just turned it inside out and spot cleaned with a soapy sponge). The only wear I notice is a bit on the handles. The stitching is fully intact and sturdy, despite constant use. I don’t know if newer materials are the same, but I can say this was a great purchase.I was looking for a small personal item for upcoming trips to Europe on airlines with small baggage allowances. In this respect, it was perfect. Sized just right. Laptop compartment was perfect, and I fit a small packing cube and in-flight essentials I needed. Because it only has a limited capacity, I would not overfill, so it was never too heavy for my back. I wish it was a smidge wider.Downsides: the straps, even when adjusted to the smallest setting, were too long and the bag hung down too low. I found a way to shorten the straps another inch or so by using Velcro straps near the hardware, so, while this fixed the issue, it is not a permanent solution. I’m still trying to figure out a way to make that happen. You definitely need both hands to open the top zipper. If you fill the bag, you cannot fit water bottles in the side pockets. When you use the top handles to carry it like a tote, the backpack straps do not tuck away, so they dangle and flap.If I had paid half the price, I would feel it was a better value for what it is. Not a bad bag, but not everything I hoped.

Great work bag
I use this bag for work for my laptop, client folders, notebooks, material packets. This bag stands up which is one of the best features. I can slip everything in and can see and access everything easily. The front pocket is perfect for chunky laptop cord. The zipper pockets inside and out are large and hold many items. The doctor-bag opening with heavy duty zipper is great for accessing everything in the bag. The handles work well. Now the backpack part... I would not normally buy a backpack. I'm 60 yrs old and backpacks are awkward. But because I really liked the bag features I figured I just wouldn't use that part. So the backpack straps fit perfectly inside the luggage slide. They don't hang or flop around when not in use. Brilliant Baggallini! It just looks like a really nice bag. However the straps are perfect when using as a backpack. They are comfortable and I do use when I need my hands free. I am 5'4" and it fits perfectly. Well done!I purchased the blue bag which is more of a navy color. Looks great!

This bag is a perfect personal item for air travel. Big enough to fit a lot. Great packets and organization. Wide top opening. And fits easily under the seat. Great bag.

Polished and professional. Good for commuting or a personal item.
Shows dirt pretty bad. I got the scuba black one.Pros:-- Right kinds and types of pockets-- rigid closure; a bit tough to close one handed but feels very sturdy--looks polished and stylish--not too tall to carry as a toteCons:--Shows dirt pretty badly (but easy clean!)--could possibly use a bit more cushion (my kindle screen got cracked in the front interior pocket-- would have though that was the absolute safest pocket)--Backpack straps do not shorten, making it hang low and bounce on your bootie. I gather this was a design choice to prevent having a loose end to the strap--Really want a key lanyard or at least some rings to clip to--side pockets are big enough for a wallet or phone but not even for a small water bottle. Sorry Stanley stans. This it definitely my first choice bag for commuting -- I hate a tote/crossbody and like to be hands free because Im probably also carrying a coffee and reading my phone. As an airline 'personal item' it's also really good, esp if you want to be able to get to your laptop on a flight. As a carryon you will likely not get more than a single change of clothes in it, so there are better travel backpacks.Worth the money, would recommend

Perfect travel companion
This bag fits much more than it appears and the pockets inside are great for electronics, note pads, etc. I love how it feels to carry it in my back and it looks classy ( for a backpack)

Excellent quality, sturdy, stylish! Highly recommend!
LOVE THIS BAG!!!Lots of pockets, very stylish, easy to use and carry, unlike most backpacks that are flimsy and fall over when you put them on the floor or table.

Cute & Professional, but it's a PAIN to close
Cute and professional backpack that I got for work. Doesn't look like a middle school backpack and the quality is great. Good pockets and doesn't feel cheap. The only problem? The clasp at the top is a PAIN. I don't think I would have bought this knowing that. It barely fits the straps so it takes me 10 seconds or so every time to line them up to button them together. It looks bad if they aren't clasped together.
