exactly what I needed
The lock arrived promptly. All the parts were there. Fits perfectly.

Proper backset is vital. An existing door will already be correct. New door? Call a Pro!
Over time the internal parts of these deadlatch assemblies wear out, usually as a result of people pulling on a door whose operator hasn't released the electric catch, which puts tremendous stress on the internal parts. When they DO break down, the spring loaded catch tends to stick in the extended position, not allowing the door to close completely. Replacing this assembly is very difficult the first time it's done, but like anything else, once you've replaced a few, you'll be able to do it in your sleep. If you're careful to measure the backset before ordering, and you order the correct size, removal/installation is a 15 minute process. This was an exact replacement for the original, which was branded differently. Pay attention to RIGHT or LEFT latching, when ordering.

Upon installing this door latch. I noticed the threads were cross threaded. Then upon looking closer. I seen dirt typ dust inside of latch. I was still able to use it after making some mods. It was definitely used!! But buyer beware.
