Obsessed!
Let me tell you about my absolute weakness for these extraordinary Huang Fei Hong peanuts, named after the legendary Cantonese martial arts master. During my years living in China, I first encountered these addictive morsels in a tiny shop, and I've never quite recovered. The genius lies in their precise orchestration of flavors: the deep earthy warmth of the peanuts themselves, the numbing embrace of Sichuan peppercorns, the fierce heat of dried chillies, and that mysterious proprietary blend of spices that includes, if my palate serves me correctly, some star anise, cinnamon, and clove. But it's the texture that truly bewitches – that perfect crunch that somehow manages to be both delicate and profound.I used to fill half my suitcase with packets when returning from trips to China. I once found myself in a rather awkward situation at LAX, trying to explain to customs why I was carrying several kilos of spicy peanuts. "But you don't understand," I pleaded, "these aren't just any peanuts!"The subtle interplay of málà (numbing-and-spicy) with the sweetness of the peanuts represents everything I adore about Chinese gastronomy – the sophisticated understanding of texture, the layering of flavors, the addictive quality that keeps you reaching for just one more. Now that they're available on Amazon, I find myself ordering them with embarrassing frequency. They've become my constant companion while writing about China – a handful with a cup of tieguanyin oolong tea is my favorite afternoon indulgence. I've even caught myself unconsciously reaching for the packet during Zoom meetings.Like all the finest Chinese snacks, they carry both history and innovation in each bite. The original Huang Fei Hong shop in Guangdong could hardly have imagined their humble peanuts would one day be shipped across oceans to satisfy my cravings.Do excuse me, I believe I hear another packet calling my name...

My favorite peanuts
These peanuts are mala. Perfect snack. I even eat the peppercorns. So good.

Tasty, but a bit pricy
A tasty change from regular peanuts, but appears to be a little expensive for the quantity provided. We were able to find the same product in the same size package for a few cents less at our local Chinese grocery store. Still, if you don't have a local source, this is a good way to get some.

Always tasty and fresh
Ever since I tried these, they’ve become one of my favorite snacks. They always come well packaged and fresh. Their flavor is also on point with tad hint of pepper 🌶️. They are not really spicy but very tasty.I wish the bags were a bit bigger because they don’t last in my house.. They are labeled as family sized but they are more like mid sized bags.Get them when they are on sale because they can be pricy.

Spiced but not spicy.
Some co-workers shared some of these with me. I bought my own the same day. The spices are visible in a handful. Tastes unique and are very addictive.

Good nuts, but way too expensive
Very good peanuts if you like the taste of Szechuan peppercorns. They had a very strong peppercorn flavor and also a nice amount of flavor and heat from the chili peppers. These nuts also have much more crunch than American roasted peanuts. I like it, but some people think the Asian nuts are too hard. My only real problem with this product is the price. If you have an Asian market anywhere near where you live, you can buy these for less than 1/2 of what I paid for them -- and I bought them from Amazon at clearance sale price.

Authentic and spicy
These peanuts are both authentic and good. My wife is Chinese and she was happy with them. No salt. Spicy with a little mouth numbing spices. 4 packs in each unit. A bit expensive for the amount of peanuts you get.

A Great Flavor Adventure! (but no price bargain)
These are absolutely great to eat! The peanuts are unusually crisp and crunchy, and are delightfully spicy with the flavor of the hot red chili shards and (more exotic) Szechuan peppercorns which make your mouth tingle. The chunks of chili and little Szechuan peppercorns mixed with the peanuts are also crispy crunchy, and very potent. I think the salt must be infused into the peanuts somehow, not sprinkled on, because I found no grains of salt. The spices from a bag (after I sorted out the peanuts) weighed about 4 grams. My 5-star rating is based entirely on the product, not the price. I can get these peanuts for $1.59/bag at an Asian grocery store here in Sacramento. To send some to a friend as a gift using Amazon, with shipping costs I paid $17.92 which is $4.48/bag for four bags.If you want to try these peanuts, first see if you can find them in a local Asian market before you order from Amazon at the price I paid.
