I love this cane. Sturdy, lightweight, versatile, with built-in seat.
A clever design, and very sturdy. I badly injured my leg and ankle and need a cane to get around while I recover. I would never have thought to consider this odd-looking design except my disabled sister will not go anywhere without hers. It's not height-adjustable, so I don't think it would work well for anyone who's very short or somewhat tall, but it's perfect for my 5'4" height. And the seat is a godsend, especially if you're newly injured or easily tired. Just unlatch the velcro and joila! You have a seat. Be forewarned, though: it's a bit narrow for people who are heavy. And you do need to be careful when sitting down. The instructions say to straddle it, but I find that'a impractical --- i couldn't possibly swing my leg over thr seat --- so I simply take special care to hold both handles when I sit, to prevent it from tipping. One last feature: I notice that the cross bars (the bars to which the mesh seat is attached) are also the perfect height for pushing off from a sitting position. That's ideal. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat. (The price here on Amazon is less than half what my sister paid at a local medical supply house.)

As a seat or cane, this has given me a way to go out places. I call it a Godsend.
Best cane seat around!! I've been using this seat for at least 6 yrs. Used the round tri-pod style for a year, found it to be dangerously tippy. With 4 feet, this sling cane is quite sturdy as a cane or a seat. Pictured is how you would use it as a seat. For some reason they show the person astride, but it's much safer to sit down on and stay there when seated like a chair. It holds up to 250 lbs. To close it you use the attached velcro wrap to roll the seat over the fabric's bars, very nifty and tidy. When walking, it becomes a sturdy cane, on which you can confidently put all your weight if you're avoiding pain in a foot, knee, hip or back. I use it both for walking when in pain and also as a seat to keep me from passing out, such as in a grocery store line. When I'm not using it for pain, it simply slips over my arm to it's crook. It gave me back the ability to go out places, when I have energy, that I couldn't do before, such as a grocery or department store. BTW, it's not very heavy at all because it's a strong aluminum. I've gone through 4 or five only because when I leave it unattended people have taken it. Now I put my return address labels in several places and no one takes it. I only had one break, and that was because I had been using it in sand a lot on a vacation. It can take sand, just not as carelessly as I was using it. The only poor thing about it is the rubber feet which the aluminum cuts down and through. So while you're ordering this, get 2 pair of 3/4" feet for canes. They're reinforced with metal and last forever.

Nice
Good product. I've had it for years. It's definitely worth the money. My only caution is that it may be too small for plus size people...

REAL MEASUREMENTS AND OBJECTIVE REVIEW:
The useable seat is 5.5 x 14. This is different from description, the 'from the manufacturer' measurements, and an answer I got! Manufacturer got the seat to floor right - 22 inches.I am 5.4 and weight 132 and it works as a 'straddle' seat and a seat with the foam grips on both sides. It is true- as another reviewer said -my hips are slightly squeezed when seated this way, so if you are much bigger you must do the straddle way. Quite comfortable for a rest or to get a rock out of your shoe.I think the difference between the 1 star and 5 star reviews is the expectation. For a very disabled, heavy, unstable, or very elderly this is not going to be a good product. The video shows a somewhat unstable women using it as a cane and I think you can see - it doesn't look very stable. If you REALLY depend on putting a LOT of weight on a cane, I would get the 4 legged one as that is the safest most stable to really lean on. Also, if you are extremely heavy I can see how it may not work - so the 250 pound limit is more like 150.As far as straddling it in a dress. You don't have to lift a leg over like mounting a horse, just drop the lower foam grip between your knees and right the legs on the ground and sit. Would not work in a mini skirt, but if you're buying this, you probably are wearing a longer dress! For a person who can walk and would like a seat to rest every once in awhile and would benefit from some walking support this is easy to use, light to carry and -stable. With this as the expectation my overall rating is 5 noting it has all three attributes. Light, sturdy, and stable at a low price point.

Unsafe
My elderly Mom bought this thinking it would be good to give her a place to sit down when walking or standing was too much for her. The first time I saw it I tested it for myself. I am thin and athletic and I found the seat to be VERY narrow and it was unsteady when I sat in it. I wouldn't allow my Mom to use it and immediately threw it in the trash. I found something MUCH better and safer for her.

Handy, lightweight and supportive
Without a doubt, worth the money! Purchased for my 89 year old mother-in-law for use while she visited us for an extended stay. The goal was to provide a way for her to attend and enjoy outings with us. It has worked well to give her walking support and a handy seat for resting. Her arthritis prevents total mobility so an available seat is a necessity. This enabled her to walk and even shop with confidence. She's used it several years now and has shared purchasing information with countless prospective buyers! There is hardly ever an occasion when someone doesn't ask her where they can buy one. Only ONE word of caution....practice sitting on the sling to get comfortable with the safest way to sit.
