QED Classic 79 Strand Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) Profile Speaker Cable for Hi-Fi and Home Cinema Installations (30 metres, White)

I ordered the 15 metre long version because I was connecting a rear surround speaker (Q Acoustics 3010) on the left side of my sofa. I needed that length as I was doing the trunking of the wire that hugged and snaked all around my living room wall and at the back of my sofa. It was more than sufficient with about a metre to spare. I personally crimped and stripped the ends and connected them to my Onkyo tx-nr686 amplifier with Sewell banana plugs. It worked beautifully.The ambient surround sound came through nicely despite the length and its wire thickness (14 AWG). I have been living so far with the past month, sampling all sorts of movies (from Transformers to A Room with a view), playing around with listening modes in my amplifer, no issue at all.This is an inexpensive option for home theatre enthusiasts looking to wire/re-wire their height or surround speakers. As for the centre and L/R speakers, I am currently using the more expensive Silver anniversary and xt25 models respectively, purchased via Amazon as well.

Used this cable for ages and given rest of system use's it have largely stuck with it (aside some small experimentation with front 2 channels)Have got 10m cable for each speaker (7.1 system) and the cable works perfectly fine and does sound great. It does sound very slightly brighter compared to other stuff I have tried, but that is when I was very critical.The cable itself is easily cut. There is some very faint writing on one of the cables to help with the positive / negative aspect, but can be slightly hard to see so add 5 or so mins to ensure you get the red / black down properly. Not too hard and in a way having a largely clean white cable is a nice thing to have for the 10 or so mins likely spent getting banna plugs installed.Overall, great cable, but I would say to possibly look around now if your looking to pick up an entire new set of cables (i.e do not already have some of the QED 79), you can get some very solid alternatives for a fair bit of money off.

I've been using this product for many years in fact I used to sell it when I worked in in Tottenham Court Road in the 80s-90s it's highly recommended as a mid priced, good quality, pure copper cable. I have it in use in a second system and also my main one and it is excellent quality.

Was previously using QED Silver Anniversary XT which is £6.49 a metre, and this was a good cable with very good resolution. I then needed 20 metres of speaker cable following a living room reshuffle, and could not stomach paying £130 for more of the same. 79 Strand cable to the rescue. Over 40 years of customer satisfaction, and at a third of the price of the XT cable. It also provided my system with a much-needed boost in treble performance. That treble knob used to sit at the max position - now it is in the centre position where it really should be! I thought my Gale speakers were just too soft-sounding, but the 79 strand cable has woken them up and given them the clarity they are capable of - and not at the expense of bass either. This has restored the clarity that was sorely missing, even with a cable three times the price, and from the same company too! 79 strand has been around for over 40 years, and I am not surprised. It works and it jolly well delights.

Sound quality is fantastic be it action, comedy I can not find any fault with this cable
