Good quality
Good for making essential oils. Doesn't really get hot enough to distill water though. Planned on using it for distilling spirits but the more I read about the laws the more I felt it wasn't worth the risk. Luckily I make soap though so at least I can still use it for something. Tried to hook up a vacuum pump to it to lower the boiling temp but I think the condenser isn't co oletely sealed. Either way I can still get the majority of oils to boil if I let the condenser reach temperatures of at least 70 Celsius. Maybe one day I'll try and get a distillers license but until then I'll have to find other uses for this thing

Great idea, unreliable boiler
I love simple solutions like this one. When the boiler works, you get a great product, with cooked wine or essential oil.Unfortunately, I'm in my 3rd boiler on the last month and only after one or two uses the boiler won't bring the mash to the boiling point. Will get stuck on 80°C or not boil at all.Try the support line, nobody home!!!Really sad.

Distillation of consumable spirits is illegal
Can't say.

Makes Brewing a Breeze
I use mine for brewing beer. Amazingly easy to maintain steeping temps with a thermostat controlled outlet. Takes wort to boiling quickly.

Excellent for the price.
Overall this works very well as a boiling kettle for "brew in a bag" (BIAB) beer. For the unfamiliar, this is the same kettle that forms the core of the "Grainfather" brewing system, which costs much more (although it has lots of other capabilities). It has a completely flat bottom with no exposed heating elements, and the only protrusion on the inside of the kettle which can snag is the drain outlet. In general it works exactly like you'd expect; you plug it in and turn it on, and it heats up. The only downsides are that it's a 120V unit, so compared to DIY kettles which use 240V water heater elements it's much slower to boil, and there's no temperature control; you need to add your own if you want anything besides full-on/full-off. There are lots of "PID controllers" that will maintain exactly the temperature you want, for not much money.

would not work on 3rd use.
Very disappointed that on my 3rd use that it won't heat up. 10 days after warranty. I will not buy my next one from Amazon or Still Spirits. Its sad to lose 212.00 dollars after 40 days. I have pushed to reset button on the bottom a dozen times only for it to run for a minute before it shuts back off. This is not what I would consider a quality product.
