The Best of Nancy Drew Classic Collection, Volume 1 (The Secret of the Old Clock / The Bungalow Mystery / The Mystery of the 99 Steps) Hardcover – May 11, 2004

I read these stories as a child and loved them, re reading was a trip down memory lane ... They still are great basic innocent mysteries and are true to the pattern of good triumphing over evil which is lost in quite a few of the modern children's books. My purpose for buying is to have the stories around this summer when grand kids are at my house so the readers and I can read them to each other and those learning to read can listen in. My hope is that they will enjoy them enough to go on with the rest of them. It may be a stretch for kids who read The Hunger Games, but a good mystery is a joy. My next goal is to get them interested in Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes.
