Works great! Definatley buy the cover to keep the cotton ...
Works great! Definatley buy the cover to keep the cotton candy from flying all over the place; it is worth spending the extra money to order. Cotton candy tasted great and kids loved it! It isn't very noisy and it is easy to clean. I used to make cotton candy at a carnival stand as a teenager and that was a professional machine; the Great Northern machine worked just as well. I use it for parties and sleepovers and also have the Great Northern Popcorn machine and it is a great product as well!

Great for parties!
Great cotton candy maker! My mom bought this for my daughters birthday, but I also secretly wanted one to practice making those pretty cotton candy flowers lol. It works great and warms up in about 5 mins, sometimes less. Worked out great for my daughters birthday party and easy to clean! It does come in a huge box and is a LOT bigger than I thought! Oh and it's not loud at all, not as much as those cheaper smaller ones. Comes with the unit, plastic cotton candy cones and a metal scoop!

EXCELLENT option for home or party use without HUGE expense! Delicious cotton candy!
We bought this machine for home use and to share at parties and events for free. It works exactly as it states.WARM UP - 2-4 minutes (usually about 3) and only necessary when you first turn machine on. It stays pretty hot after that.TIME FOR ONE CONE - About 60 seconds for one full scoop of Gold Medal Sugar Floss Mix. This makes a pretty big cone, too!FLOSS DIRECTION - Straight up. This machine forces the sugar straight upward, which is not like the very expensive machines that throw it outward against the walls of the bowl. That said, floss flies through the air. We haven't gotten the lid for it, but we think a screen lid would actually work better. Still thinking about that.MESSY - A little. Sugar gets out of the bowl on the machine and on the work surface. Also, floss will stick to you and other things as it flies through the air.FLOSS - Excellent, very fine.PRO - Inexpensive, blow clean up is a breeze wiping with just a warm wet towel.CON - The heater does cycle, it is not constant, so sometimes you might not be getting floss but there is still sugar in the heater.

Works amazing! Love it and the kids couldn’t be happier
Works perfect! Just to let people know. 1. Let it heat up before dumping sugar, or you will lose a lot. 2. Dump it in while it’s spinning. 3. You can reuse the sugar on the side, just knock it off and tide it in and get yummy mixed flavors. There is an list for sugar floss that will let you mix a pack of six sugars. It was the best I could find online! Summer passion is a great flavor so give it a try!! I hope this helps someone!

Broken-Hearted over Terrible Lack of Quality and Cotton Candy-LESS for another 5 days!!!
After seeing so many great reviews, I felt that I could be confident in purchasing this item. Man! Yet another mistake! A big letdown and a serious loss of confidence in the reviews I've been reading. I hope you find my reviews useful. I always try to be fair and completely honest about the product and my experience. I value excellent customer service and I value high quality goods. And I love to spread the word about excellent items! But, I also feel it my duty to warn of poorly designed or executed ones... Unfortunately this one falls short...The machine arrived very quickly, and I was super excited.First Note, manufactured in China. I figured that due to the price point... but basically, it was still in the original shipping box that shipped from China and that was slipped inside a second box. The original box had damage. Even though it had tension straps holding it together, one side corner of the box was complete torn open.Second note, it had been placed into the new shipping box upside down, so when I opened it, i realized that the entire shipping process probably happened with the machine upside down. However, it was packed well, so no damage appeared to have occurred in shipping. So my issues with the machine, and what ultimately lead to my massive disappointment and not being able to make cotton candy for my nephews with my new machine and ultimately my decision to return the product can be attributed to a massive failure in quality control or just a general over all lack of quality period. I took pictures through the process as I unboxed it as I immediately began to see quality/condition issues the moment i took it out.1) the bright, pretty blue with graphics external case has multiple dents in it. Kind of like as it rode down a conveyor, someone took a swing at it every once in a while. but, honestly, if the dents had been the only condition issue, I would have fired it up and kept it.2) I immediately noticed an issue with the powder coating on the top of the machine. It appears as though the metal was not properly treated with acid and cleaned before the powder coating process and there were rust spots... to which powder coat does not properly adhere. And so a big flake of the cured powder coat paint was coming off.3) the extruder head was cast aluminum, which i have no real problem with, but, i took the cap off to see how easy it was to clean and the surface where the sugar is melted was pitted, greasy, grimy... and though it could have been cleaned, it needed a quick pass on lathe or sander to smooth the surface and make it a nice smooth and easy to clean surface. the edges where the cap screwed on had been planed and were very smooth and nice and clean... so easily could have been done.4) one foot is shorter than the other three, so i would have had to put something under it to keep it from vibrating all over the place... with the extruder head spinning at over 3000 rpms... um, no.5) I will freely admit that this one is probably a bit too picky. but, i appreciate, look for, buy and produce high quality goods and services. If something was thrown together and is not of high quality, does not look like it will last, will not last... don't even try to sell it to me! The stainless steel bowl, which i truly did like as a feature very much (and would prefer actually over the machine that I have ordered that is made in the USA to replace this one at about twice the price which has an aluminum bowl... i love stainless steel) But this bowl was tacked/welded... poorly. the side was welded and buffed, the four feet that allow the bowl to be attached to the machine were spot welded with 4 contacts each and the inside hoop was spot welded every couple of inches... then the welds were quickly and sloppily buffed. but instead of a beautiful smooth stainless steel bowl, it looked like a shoddy throw-together.6) finally, the sugar scoop with the long handle... while a wonderful idea... oh my it was the worst. pictures of the inside attached. the outside was shiny and nice, but the inside was pitted and corroded, rusted... I don't know what all could have been in there... lead, cadmium, ... who knows! itwas just gross. so that was kind-of the clincher for me... after looking in the scoop... i was like, um, nope, not gonna keep it... sending it back. All of this combined to leave me feeling very disappointed at not being able to spin out some cotton candy quickly and having fun. ( I recently bought a $20 cotton candy unit from a store, and had a blast but it just took too long to make the cotton candy... and i had so much fun, and cotton candy is a perfect little sweet - very little sugar lots of fluffy volume and air... so a great snack if you need a sugar fix! So I decided to buy a bigger, faster unit, because I've been making it every day for three weeks and it takes over an hour to make a few cones for me and my nephews. )So, the machine is back in its box, ready to go back tomorrow. And I decided that with such poor quality workmanship, it was my responsibility to post the truth about this product. What could have been a wonderful product with a very nice price point, turned out to be a very big disappointment. I decided to purchase the Paragon Classic Floss Cotton Candy Machine for $455.54. basically, twice the price of this one... but i feel confident it will be significantly higher quality than this one! Many pictures attached as proof and demonstration. My summary: STAY AWAY from this machine and all the other ones like it. I have noticed quite a few under different names that appear to be exactly the same manufacturer due to design specs, colors, cut of machine, etc.

Perfect
This is a carnival quality cotton candy machine. It makes a cone wad in seconds. I have had counter top machines and they take too long and make only little. This is a plug in and use and pretty easy to rinse out the bin. We use this for family night, small gatherings. I can't attest to making tons at a time but have made like 10 full sized cone servings in under 10 minutes from start to finish. I'm very happy with the purchase. If you have an obsession with cotton Candy go for it!

Best Gift Ever
Best Christmas gift I have ever purchased for my boys. Had a cheap one before and it took 15 minutes to heat up and make one cone. This baby heats up in about 5 minutes and then makes a huge cone on cotton candy in about 20 secs. Huge hit for my boys on movie nights and when they have friends over. easy to use and works perfectly.
