Did The Job
Worked well to cool the Intel Core 2 Quad CPU in my retro Windows XP build.

The closest thing I could find....
Oh Dell....why?The Dell Inspiron 570 (circa 2011) is an AMD Athalon II based PC system while the 560 is the Intel variant. Dell, being Dell decides that even though one uses an LGA 775 socket while the other uses an AM3 socket (those each have different specifications for mounting CPU coolers) they can save a buck or two if they use the same CPU cooler on both models. So here I am, putting a LGA 775 cooler on an AM3 socket because....Dell. I don't want a cooler with those terrible Intel plastic push pins because this PC already has a back plate (m2 threaded) installed. I thought about removing it then realized that Dell most likely has super glued it to the back of the motherboard....because Dell. Unfortunately nearly all LGA 775 coolers have those pins because that was the Intel thing to do. So I finally found this! And it's almost perfect. I can ignore the included back plate because this screws right in to the original existing back plate. So lets get into the pros and cons part...Pros:Cooler Master reputation.Good quality materials.Reasonably priced.Mounts with a back plate (also included)Fits in a Funky Dell hybrid AM3 socket with LGA775 mounting holes situation.Cons:The first con is that the core of this thing is very very small and doesn't even come close to the edges of the CPU. It's about 3/4 inch of solid material contacting the CPU. The other half of the CPU surface is actually just in contact with fins, and with no thermal paste. I don't know what universe this was designed for where they have tiny little CPUs that would be appropriate for. I expected more from Cooler Master. The second con is kind of a big deal too. 3 pin fan! Even this 12 year old Dell used a 4 pin PWM fan. The result on this system seems to be that the fan is going to run at full speed all the time. Not exactly how CPU fans should work. I really wish there was a 4 pin option with this cooler. Dell BIOS of course doesn't have an option to change the fan type from voltage regulated to pulse width modulation.Basically this is going to have to do....I'm not sure how long the fan will last running at 100%, but at least it's cooling well enough to prevent a thermal shutdown. It's still pretty quiet considering it's going full blast. Idle the system is about 30c. At about 50% load it was about 42c. i just really wish it was 4-pin and I would be a happy camper.

Better than the standard
The standard intel fan is horrible. You will want to use this instead. It's a better fit and lasts longer.
