There are videos on Youtube to watch how to use it, some are good and some are so so... the product works good. I do recommend watching the videos.

I'm an avid DIY'er and replaced 10 interior doors recently using the Bosch 1617EVS router, Ryiobi door hinge installation and door latch kits, and Dewalt door lock installation kit. It was easy cutting the hinge recesses, door handle holes, and latches with these tools. I recommend using all of these. I bought door blanks. A few were too wide which I cut with a table saw. I simply laid an old door on the saw with as a bed with 2x4's supporting the outer edges. This worked fine. A couple were too long which I cut with a skill saw. The Ryobi hinge guide was perfect to guide the router cutting of hinge recesses. It mounts firmly and is precise including router bit depth setting. Be sure to let the router stop before removing it from the jig. This eliminates cutting into plastic noted in the other reviews. The Bosch router is great. It starts very smoothly with a controlled spinup. I felt no vibration and it was easy to control and guide. This is my first router and am very impressed. The Dewalt door lock install kit worked great to cut the door and lock mechanism holes. I just cut carefully to avoid chewing into the plastic. I had an extra 1" hole saw to cut the lock mechanism hole. The guide firmly attaches to the door. The Ryobi door latch kit was the only weak link. Ryobi needs to provide a router guide to cut the latches like the hinge kit. It's hard to hold the template steady and parallel to the door while striking with a hammer. Like others, I used wood chisels to remove the wood and a dremel with cutting tool to round the corners.

I bought this along with a saw guide and dewalt door handle jig to install some slab doors. I had to tr 1/4 inch of the door with a 2 degree bevel, used this hinge jig to route out the hinge locations on the cut edge. This tool couldn’t work any better. With the three tools I bought for this project, plus a router, circular saw, and drill I already own, I can knock out a door in about 30 minutes. My next project is a front door.

Easy to use once you have them marked up. glad I had old doors as the hingers were placed at same placement. router tool bit could have been a little bit linger or guide thinner as I had to place 3 washers on tool to extend bit past the guard.

Good enough for the occasional user. Just follow the instructions. Worked well for replacing 4 interior doors.

Very pleased with how well the Hinge Template worked and how easy it was to use. Including the router bit and the self centering drill was very much appreciated and shows how much though went into the product.Follow Up: After writing this I noticed that the package delivered did not include the "Bundled Door Latch Installation Kit." I tried to get a replacement through Returns but the only option offered was return and refund. I am using the Hinge Template and didn't want to have to interrupt my work. After about half an hour of trying to penetrate the idiotic "Chat" robot, I finally managed to reach a Customer service agent. Apparently there is no way to send just the missing Door Latch Installation Kit. I would have to return the Hinge Template for credit and order it again... at an increased price and perhaps encounter the same problem. Since I didn't want to do that, they credited my account and told me to keep the Hinge template which is satisfactory to me. From the other reviews, I gather the Door Latch Installation Kit is not much of a loss. Bottom Line: Check to be sure you receive the Door Latch Installation Kit before opening the package.

Works very well for hinges and holes, a must-have for renovation projects.
