Been using wix filters since the early '80s best filters on the market still.

I always used the Motorcraft FL-820S filter for my 5.4 Triton, but after learning about the broken pleats and holes that are appearing in these Motorcraft filters, I decided to change to the WIX. There also seems to be some sort of supply issue with the FL-820S filter, mostly at our Wal-Marts.While the WIX is a bit more expensive, you can offset that cost by using Synthetic oil and easily go 5000+ miles between oil changes.I've never had an issue with the Motorcraft filter, but anyone with a Triton engine knows their oil system is sensitive enough and you shouldn't make things any worse for them. Anyone who has done a timing job on these engines knows full well what I'm talking about. DO NOT mess with inferior parts for this engine! You will be burned if you do. The Triton MUST have clean oil. You can't let them go like yesterday's V8's. I'd much rather spend a few extra dollars on oil and filter than another timing job.I will give this review a 4 star for now as I can't speak to the longevity of the WIX filter yet, but their reputation is well known. Only time will tell at my next oil change when I cut the filter open. Typically I change at 5000 mile intervals whether it needs it or not. I only use 5w30 Motorcraft or Valvoline Synthetic oil. Books says to use 5W20, but after timing repair and pump upgrade, I switched to 5W30. Anyone with a Triton should switch to 5W30.And if you own the earlier Triton (2004 - 2014?).. it's only a matter of time WHEN you have to do your timing job..... not IF !!! And don't let the repair scare you away. Even in a worse case scenario and you had to replace the entire engine - it's still way cheaper than a new truck today. From what I've seen and read about, an entire engine replacement is rare. Many mechanics try to talk you into this, but most of the time you can repair what you have.

Used this filter on my 2003 Ford F150, 4.6L engine. Best filter I've used, made by a company with no affiliation to any specific manufacturer. I recommend this filter for use on any vehicle. Thanks.

I bought this for my 1997 Ford expedition 4.6l. I was going to go with motorcraft but you can't beat wix, these are the best filters you can get. Will buy again.
