AC Compressor Clutch Assembly Fits; Nissan Maxima 3.5 Liter 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 A/C

Product worked as advertised and was easy to install. However, this product is extremely overpriced for something that's not even genuine Nissan.

Exactly what was needed. A few months ago my Compressor plate fell off while I was driving. I ordered this part for my 2007 Maxima, and everything fit perfectly. My order even came a few days early!

It did exactly what I needed it to do. AC in 2006 Nissan is working better than before It went out.

I have a 2007 Nissan Maxima SL 3.5L engine with 99,000 miles. My AC compressor was starting to make a lot noise so I purchased this kit to fix the noise. Everything in this kit is as pictured and seems like good quality parts with the exception of the washers which I think is major flaw in this kit and I hope the seller updates this kit to include OEM size washers. The install went great until the final step. Per the instructions supplied, you want to have a gap between the hub and pulley of 0.01-0.02. You need a feeler gauge to check this and to know how many washers are needed to get to the required gap. I needed 4 of the supplied washers to get the proper gap. At this point I had torque the center bolt snugged but not real tight. I then finished torquing the bolt down then put my belt on. I then checked the gap one more time around the entire circumference of the hub and realized I had a problem. The gap between the hub and pulley was no longer constant or parallel. I could not insert a 0.01 feeler gauge in about a third of the circumference of the hub. On the opposite side I could easily put a 0.02 feeler gauge. This is how I knew something was not right. I took the hub off to see what the problem was. I looked at the washers I installed and saw that 2 of the 4 washers were deformed. The washers in this kit have an outside diameter that is too small. They are also very thin. You could see that the washers were deformed when torqued by the counterbore or chamfer in the thread hole in the center of the shaft. Also because the washers are too small they are not able to be concentric with the shaft. I believe the off centered washer along with being deformed caused the plane of the hub to not be parallel with the plane of the pulley. I looked at my original OEM washers. There were only 2 washers. one was thicker than the other. They fit snug in the center pocket of the hub. This allowed the washers to maintain concentricity but I also believe because there was more flat area on the washer that it prevented the washers from being deformed. The one washer being thicker also probably helped too. Fortunately, the 2 OEM washers worked perfect for me. The hub was now parallel to the pulley and the gap was exactly in between 0.01 and 0.02. My AC compressor is quiet now. I would advise contacting the seller if he has updated this kit with the proper washers. Otherwise use your stock OEM washers but that might not guarantee the proper gap so be aware of that. The attached picture shows the 5 washers supplied in the kit and the 2 OEM washers that were originally in my compressor. You can see that the outside diameter is different and you can also noticed that 2 of the supplied washers I used from the kit are deformed from the installation.
