Caught early as soon as a few lil ichs appeared on my new fish . Cured In 2 days without raising water temp and used with prime water conditioner with no issues at all even though it says not to. Use to neutralize water for refilling aquarium A1 product or koi pond

I'm not a chemist, so I can only go by the health of my fish. Since I've been using this product (about 4 years) I haven't had one sick fish. They all seem to be active and happy.

I've used this once in the past. It's made with ClorAm-X a.k.a sodium hydroxymethanesulfonate, which is what Amquel Plus uses. However, ultimate has more a stable formula in my experience. It seems to reduce oxygen much less than other dechlorinators, too. Plus, it doesn't add any form of sulfate to the water that would, otherwise, allow denitrifying bacteria to use/convert their end bio-processes into toxic hydrogen sulfide. Glad the shipper didn't completely smash the product as it seemed very pressed down, almost to the point of popping the seal off.Edit: not dropping stars (started with 4) like I used to with other products, however, after reading some interesting things online about the main ingredients in this product, I learned that it's not entirely safe for all fish. It also gives false positives on Ammonia test kits if overdosed (doesn't let you know how much total Ammonia there is). I had to go with a different product in the end. But, I did save the cap to put on other products to dose by drops (for smaller Aquariums that I have).

I have been using tap water for years with all my tanks and always used prime. My tap water in my town is cleaned with ammonia which is deadly to fish. After using prime for years, my water was so acidic that it barely showed up on the api master test kit at less than 6.0ph. I had to buffer the water with crushed coral for years and couldn't figure it out. I was recommended by a fish store to try ultamate and I finally did. All problems that lasted for years are gone. I prepare the water in buckets atleat 2 days before I use it as a precaution. For a 5 gallon bucket I use about 3ml to treat the water and it even keeps the ph up to 7.0 now. No need for crushed coral. Just to know with this product it will give you a false POSITIVE for AMMONIA for a few days so don't worry. I am very happy I found this product and I will never use anything else again. I have had this bottle for a year now treating atleat 50 gallons a month and I still have more than 3/4 of a bottle. So this bottle will last a long time!

For Seachem fans and everyone else: Yes, SeaChem Prime IS an excellent product and does everything it says it does. I used it for years. Indeed, I'm a Seachem fan too and after I'm finished writing this, I'm buying some Seachem Matrix carbon here in Amazon. BUT, the Ultimate Conditioner IS BETTER. Whichever way it does it (I'm not a chemistry major), it is more efficient than Prime at doing the same jobs in the aquarium. I've noticed the difference by using Prime with my fish and then noticing the huge difference in the fish when I changed to the Ultimate Conditioner. Everything is better: their activity level, energy, health, a lot less disease problems (I'm a careful water tester, care taker, etc.) and the general happy, perky, funny mood my fish keep showing. And no, I don't work for Hikari. Try it, you will be happy, too!!
