Perfect for remote soldering
This is my second one and both have worked great. Especially good for soldering away from the work bench.

Cordless Solder Iron
I have used this soldering iron at least a dozen times now with great results. It appears to be build rather sturdy. The cordless aspect to this product is entirely too convienent. I thought that it would not get hot enough, but after 45 seconds or so, it seems to be hot enough to melt thin pieces of soldering core. It also has a blow torch tip that comes in handy when I want to "heat shrink" my wire connections. I also like to use the "hot knife" tip to cut climbing rope or any type of nylon rope for that matter. It gives it a nice smooth finish and melts it quite nicely so that it won't come unraveled. Way better than taking a lighter to the end of the rope!!! Just make sure that you have plenty of butane gas on hand. You can purchase this gas in aresol cans and refill the soldering iron whenever you look into the sight glass and see that it is low. GREAT PRODUCT!!!

Love it!
Love the toolkit! Has everything I may need, but I haven't yet tried it out for working. THe box is small enough to keep in a bag and light enough to carry easily. Love ut so far!

Plenty of heat for the bigger stuff and shrink wrap is great. Can't see ever going back
5 star for the torch itself, the supplied igniter is a bit weak so I use a Bic lighter. Plenty of heat for the bigger stuff and shrink wrap is great. Can't see ever going back!

Five Stars
I like this little butane solder pencil better than any of my electric ones

Nice little kit
for use on boat. Do not, obviously, need 120v power. Develops good heat. Bought mostly for heat shrink tubing on wiring.

This a great item
The SOLDERPRO 70 is a great tool for a professional electronics technician like myself. In the past, my supervisor supplied my coworkers and I with the internal igniting soldering tools. I wrote a review of the Weller Super Pro Portasol model. The Super Pro has an internal ignition system and is worthless as far as I'm concerned. The internal ignition system points become corroded and eventually fail. The SOLDERPRO 70 only needs an external spark or an external flame to start. Take it from someone who is in the trade; you won't be disappointed with the SOLDERPRO 70.
