Clever set that is a lot of fun!
My 7 year old daughter loves this Lego set! It’s very much a Lego set that is reminiscent of Polly Pocket toys with a small playset that is contained. She loves her older brother’s Lego Ideas Pop-up Book and was thrilled to have her own version. She is needing less help building her Lego sets so she was able to build all the things for the inside of this book on her own but she did need some help connecting them inside and putting the book itself together. This set comes with a fold out instruction page instead of a booklet and in some cases shows the pieces in place without showing you what pieces to get or where to put them which could make it tricky for younger builders so I’m not sure about the age recommendation starting at 5. My son has always caught on quickly with Legos but my daughter likes to follow the directions and hates when they don’t show steps so it might depend on the child. The instructions break down the three buildable sets into very easy to follow steps. First is the slide set which my daughter really loves and tells me how well the figures and animals slide down it compared to her other Lego slides. Next is a larger arch with a big clam on top. The clam opens and you can close in Flounder or other treasures inside. Finally is a coral piece with the Prince Eric bust. All those parts fit into the book binding so the book can easily close. There’s also a small boat to build. Both sides of the book have a few Lego circles to attach pieces or figures to. One side has an island outline and the other has coral in the middle of the sea. My daughter absolutely loves the tiny figures. There are two Ariels, one is her classic mermaid look and one in her pink ballgown when she has human legs. There is also a Prince Erik and the little Sebastian and Flounder. The instructions called for putting two stickers on the outside of the book that came from the same small sticker sheet but there was a separate sticker sheet that can be used to decorate anyway you want. My daughter really loved getting to place the stickers wherever she wanted. She also loves that the gold stickers have a shimmer to it. Everything fits inside and closes up but you do have to be careful about placement so it will close up. The pieces do have to be very firmly pushed in or they will come out when you close it up. This set looks so great closed up on a shelf like a book. I love that all the parts are contained which is less of a mess and less stuff to keep track of so it remains a lot of fun for her to play with. She’s having so much fun with this set and already asking for another one. We love this new line which is so clever and a lot of fun for play.

Adorable miniature build!
These LEGO builds have been a quarantine hit with our 4 year old! She’s really enjoying looking at the picture instruction to put each set together- however it’s a bit more unclear than say an 8 year old set- you really need to pay attention to the positions of the legos in the images. The figurines are half the size of a standard LEGO person so it’s not as fun to incorporate them into the scene but she doesn’t seem to mind. We are slowly building all the sets and having the princesses play at each other’s castles! Great imaginative play after the build! There aren’t many pieces to it but the hours of entertainment value alone is worth the price!

Cute set
Cute little set and actually closes without having to take anything out or apart. I wish they had a version of these storybooks for boys. I bought this for my daughter but my five year old son loves how compact and easy to travel it is. There isn't anything like it out there for boys. You'd think they could do a star wars or dinosaur book or something, even Lego movie. Only thing that could improve are the directions, these weren't as clear as other Lego instructions.

I like these books
I like the book sets, I got each of them for my 3.5 year old daughter. I like that the pieces stay with the book and she can bring along. That it is easy for her to set up and then she can continue to play with her legos too. She pretend plays then too. Very engaging for play!

It’s a hit!
This was the perfect first set for our four year old. She was able to build it with just a bit of help and likes that she can close it all up and easily carry it from room to room. An adorable set that has her occupied for long spells and gets played with again and again. We’ll be getting the others, too.

Great for littles!
We got this for my three year old and she absolutely loves it. It took awhile to put together, but it was fun to do it with her. She loves to play with it. It closes and opens easily, but sometimes the pieces do fall off the plates. It's pretty easy to put back together.

On the go Lego set
This is an adorable set for Ariel lovers. It keeps a little playhouse handy for kids to take on the go. It’s not very large either, perfect for small hands. Lots of little pieces though and the instructions are not as detailed as a usual Lego set. May want to work with an adult to make sure the stickers are adhered right side up.
