Caltronic Clatronic -Ek-3321 Eggs 7 - Stainless Steel - Measure

This was a replacement for a broken one using the same principle.THE GOOD: Reliably cooks soft boiled eggs to the same grade each time. I've used the setting similar to my old one and had perfect eggs from the go. Have not tried any other settings but see no reason why this shouldn't work just as well. There are also settings to boil several hardnesses in one operation (i.e. you take out the soft eggs you need when done, then set the switch to continue cooking the remaining eggs to medium and/or hard), but have not tried how well this works.With the flat round base it is very stable. Compared to the old one, it is also larger (18cm diameter, not including the switches), which allows it to be faster: The water boils after about a minute, so I get my soft boiled eggs in about 7 minutes (the old one took 9 minutes).I got the machine delivered from Germany with a UK adaptor attached, which was a pleasant surprise. Thumbs up for that.THE BAD: The machine comes with a measuring cup that has markings like you would need for a machine using the evaporation method. These markings are not needed and will lead to confusion and probably incorrect use (who reads the manual??). A marking on the plate to indicate the correct water level would be much better. FYI: you need a full cup (120ml), regardless of the hardness of the eggs you want.THE UGLY: The buzzer has a piercingly high sound. A dog would probably go running. Had I bought this machine in a shop in Germany, I would have returned it for that reason alone. As it is, I'm planning to get the screwdriver and the soldering iron out and replace the buzzer with the one from the broken machine if possible.

Ich habe mir jetzt diesen Eierkocher zum zweiten Mal gekauft. Nicht weil das Gerät schlecht wäre. Nein, ganz im Gegenteil. Der Eierkocher funktioniert ganz hervorragend. Wer Schwierigkeiten mit der Funktion hat, sollte einmal in die Bedienungsanleitung schauen. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis (hier bei Amazon 14.95 Euro) ist ebenfalls ausgezeichnet. Das Gerät hat eine Heizschale aus Edelstahl, eine bei d e m Preis ganz seltene Tatsache; im täglichen Gebrauch immer noch das beste Material für die Reinigung. Aber da ist eine Kleinigkeit, die einem doch auf die Dauer zu schaffen macht: der Eierhaltereinsatz. Bei häufiger Anwendung (sagen wir mal alle zwei Tage) hält dieser Einsatz maximal eineinhalb Jahre. Die Qualität des Kunststoffes ist einfach für das ständige "Dampfbad" nicht ausreichend gut genug. Das scheint auch die Firma "Clatronic" in Kempen bemerkt zu haben, bietet sie doch diesen Einsatz zum Preis von 3,95Euro plus Versandkosten an.Mein Vorschlag: Das Gerät verbessern ! Einen qualitativ besseren Einsatz entwickeln! Dann kann man auch beruhigt etwas mehr verlangen und das Gerät wäre auf dem Markt beim Preisleistungsverhältnis unschlagbar. Sollte die Firma wirklich 'mal drüber nachdenken.Nachtrag im Jahr 2020: vor gut dreieinhalb Jahren schrieb ich, der Kunststoffeinsatz hält nur ca. eineinhalb Jahre; dann zerbröselt er langsam aber sicher. Ich glaube ich muss beim Hersteller Abbitte leisten. Der Einsatz ist auch nach dieser Zeit von 3 1/2 Jahren noch nicht kaputt. Also man sieht, es gibt auch Verbesserungen! Mittlerweile kostet das Gerät nur noch €11,40.(Stand 24.08.20) Was soll man dazu sagen. In den letzten 3 1/2 Jahren also nochmal um €3,50 günstiger geworden. Wenn das so weiter geht, kostet das Gerät vielleicht bald nix mehr? :-) Aber im Ernst: bei dieser Ausstattung hat der Eierkocher wirklich ein konkurrenzloses Preisleistungsverhältnis. Wer da nicht zugreift ist selber Schuld. Folgerichtig kann ich jetzt die Benotung von 4 auf 5 Sterne erhöhen.

Fantastic boiler!!! I've wasted so much money on inadequate boilers. This cooks your eggs exactly how you want them. The seller provided a fantastic service - product came from Germany and they kindly fitted the boiler with a UK plug. I have to disagree with a previous review regarding the alarm. It's not very loud or piercing
